The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in project management within a fast-paced digital environment, preferably in tech, entertainment, or a creative agency. Experience with digital product development and marketing/editorial campaigns is crucial, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. The role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting to a rapidly changing environment.

The Netflix Publishing Operations Team is seeking a talented Project Manager to join our team.


The Netflix Publishing team is responsible for editorial content across Tudum.com, Queue, Podcasts and press notes. This role will be looking to primarily support Tudum.com, the official companion site to Netflix, which helps fans to find and fuel their fandom for the TV shows and movies they love.


About the Role


This role offers project management support to cross-functional teams in editorial, product, engineering, and design, focusing on projects with heavy editorial involvement. As the Project Manager for the Publishing Ops team, you will manage a variety of projects with different scopes, often multiple at a time, navigating the unique needs and expectations of each in a thoughtful and proactive way. You’ll be deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of each project, ensuring seamless execution, managing dependencies, and fostering clear communication across teams.


The types of projects you’ll manage may range from virtual fan events, special feature pages, multi-title/slate campaigns, as well as many other initiatives. This requires a highly flexible and adaptable approach, as Tudum and Publishing as whole continues to evolve and expand. It is critical to be comfortable with and open to feedback as our processes continually develop.
A successful candidate is comfortable working on diverse projects with varying expectations, thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and excels in relationship-building. A love for the hands-on work of creating the conditions for your teammates to thrive within is essential. 


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for internal and external teams on multiple projects, managing communications across multiple groups of stakeholders, including any hired agencies and vendors.

  • Manage operational workflows, including briefs, SOWs, timelines, cross-functional communications, creative reviews, project tracking, file and asset management, and project retrospectives

  • Assist in planning, setting timelines, and establishing checkpoints to ensure smooth progress. Ensure the health of the team and the project are on course.

  • Identify and manage project dependencies, ensuring all deliverables are on time or accounted for with contingency plans

  • Handle scope changes, negotiate deliverable adjustments, and manage stakeholder expectations

  • Monitor communication channels to resolve open issues and maintain momentum on projects

  • Schedule and facilitate regular project check-ins, meetings, and retrospectives to keep teams aligned and projects on track

  • Lead project kickoffs and facilitate cross-functional vertical meetings for planning and progress updates

  • Provide administrative support as needed, including taking detailed notes during meetings and ensuring follow-up actions are tracked and completed


Must Haves

  • 5+ years project management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, digital-first environment either within a tech/entertainment/ lifestyle company or creative agency with high technical expertise.  

  • Comfortable with various project management software like Airtable, Asana, Monday.com, etc

  • A passion for being involved in the day-to-day management and execution of projects

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects across teams such as product, engineering, design, and editorial

  • Self starter, organized, detail oriented, highly accountable and flexible. Bias to action, proactive & innovative by nature, works well under ambiguous conditions 

  • High tolerance for iteration, failure and an ability to learn and move on quickly. Comfortable receiving and delivering feedback.

  • Experience with digital product development (e.g., UX/UI, development/release lifecycles, quality assurance) and Marketing or editorial, branded content and marketing campaigns

  • Experience working in continuous delivery environments where the pace is fast

  • Fluent in content types and formats while understanding the fundamentals of asset management and workflow

  • Strong organizational skills with experience in tracking timelines, managing dependencies, and ensuring successful project delivery

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong working relationships and managing expectations with various stakeholders

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-growing, ever-changing environment

  • Able to recognize and surface patterns of opportunities/needs across projects to Program Managers for further evaluation

  • Located in Los Angeles or New York areas, willing to work in a hybrid home-office schedule

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $170,000- $320,000. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
