About the Role

The EMEA Sales Director role is a newly created position, based in the UK, supporting our rapid expansion and recent product launches. In this role, you will:

  • Inspire and Lead: As a champion of AlphaSense’s culture and values, you’ll lead a high-performing, diverse team, setting a standard of excellence across EMEA. Embracing our “Better Never Stops” philosophy, you’ll cultivate continuous improvement through strategic coaching, constructive feedback, and development to elevate team potential.
  • Drive Impact: Foster excellence through developing our people, perfecting our sales operations and optimizing processes to exceed our ambitious sales targets. Leverage new product innovations to unlock opportunities and enhance value for new and existing clients, positioning AlphaSense as a trusted market partner.
  • Collaborate for Success: Partner in a cross-functional environment, working closely with product, marketing, and customer success teams to align on goals, execute collaboratively, and elevate client experiences. By setting clear, shared objectives and encouraging co-ownership, you’ll contribute to a unified approach organization-wide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Build, inspire, and lead a high-performance sales team focused on collaboration, inclusivity, and growth. Foster a supportive, high-accountability environment where feedback, both positive and constructive, is valued to drive development.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Shape and execute an EMEA go-to-market strategy aligned with AlphaSense’s global objectives. Demonstrate strategic vision by identifying growth opportunities, scaling the team’s efforts, and focusing on impactful results.
  • Data-Driven Management: Use CRM and analytics tools to track sales metrics, forecast accurately, and make informed decisions that drive continuous improvement. Promote alignment around key KPIs to sustain transparency and accountability.
  • Client Engagement: Engage directly with high-value prospects and clients to understand their needs, deliver solutions, and build long-term partnerships. Champion a client-centric approach to foster trust and position AlphaSense as a market leader in EMEA.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities within EMEA, adapt to evolving market trends, and align with our strategic direction.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, marketing, and other teams to drive alignment, create a seamless client journey, and model AlphaSense’s values of open communication and collaboration.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Sales Leadership: Successful track record in sales leadership within SaaS or high-growth tech, including building and managing high-performing teams across EMEA.
  • Strategic Vision: A big-picture thinker with a clear growth strategy, able to inspire and unify teams around a shared purpose, and execute with a commitment to excellence.
  • Metrics-Driven Focus: Proficiency with pipeline management, forecasting, and performance metrics, leveraging CRM and analytics tools for decision-making and enhancing team performance.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Skilled in collaborating across departments, engaging key stakeholders, and working with senior leaders to foster co-ownership and shared success.
  • Outstanding Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, able to articulate vision and inspire both internal teams and clients through open and constructive dialogue.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Deep understanding of the EMEA market, committed to delivering client value and cultivating long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven record in sales management and leadership, with consistent target overachievement across industries and buyer personas.
  • Expertise in managing complex SaaS sales cycles, with a focus on continuous sales process optimization.
  • Skilled in coaching and developing high-performing sales professionals.
  • Effective in cross-functional collaboration with experience in multi-departmental initiatives.
  • Dedicated to feedback and team growth support.
  • Ideal: Proficiency in German or French.
  • Ideal: Experience in a fast-scaling SaaS environment and selling to research professionals within the Corporate market.
