N-IX is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for their client's Cloud-Storage Team. The client is an open-source platform for data science, used by over 300,000 users globally. The primary responsibility involves data management, processing, migration, and setting up resources and automation using Terraform and CloudFormation. The role utilizes AWS managed services for solution building, focusing on onboarding tenants, implementing infrastructure changes, and scripting automation based on templates. The engineer will work with a distributed team across the US and Europe and participate in on-call duties. Key skills include AWS cloud services (VPC, IAM), Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Terraform, GitOps, and managing EKS clusters. Experience with AWS S3, petabyte data processing, and AWS networking for data transfer is crucial.

Job Details
N-IX is looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client's Cloud-Storage Team.
Our client is an open source platform built to productionize data science from day 1 by a team with a strong scientific background. Today it has a strong user community of 300,000+ across all industries and in over 60 countries. Its philosophy is to maintain and develop an open source platform that contains all the functionality any individual might require and to continue adding functionality through both our own work and that of the community.
Primary responsibility for DevOps on the project would be:
- Work on data management and processing tasks, implement data migration and merges from different locations and setting up needed resources, policies and automation for that.
- Terraform is used as a main IaC tool with small injections of CloudFormation.
- Project uses AWS managed services for building their solution
- DevOps Engineer will be responsible for tasks related to onboarding new tenants, implementing infrastructure changes, and adjusting or creating scripted automation based on predefined templates. The role focuses on configuring and adapting existing solutions rather than designing new systems from scratch. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, automation scripting, and cloud-based deployment processes is essential.
- DevOps specialist will be joining team distributed across US and Europe with already established development process, regular plannings, sync ups and sprints.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support critical incidents and ensure high system availability.
Skills:
- AWS cloud service hands-on experience (VPC, IAM),
Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Terraform, GitOps Workflows, Infrastructure as Code, Secret Management - EKS cluster management
- Strong knowledge in working with AWS S3, understanding best practices, performance optimisation and processing of big (petabyte) data
AWS networking related to data transfer and migration between cloud providers
Understanding and building resources using Terraform
Will be appreciated but not required:
- Experience working with object store services in GCP and Azure
AWS StepFunction experience
