As a Senior Financial Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in external financial reporting for a publicly listed company on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing group reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with reporting standards, supporting investor presentations, and staying updated on financial reporting developments. You will also be involved in developing and improving internal control systems, collaborating with various departments, and mentoring junior finance staff. The role requires a strong understanding of financial reporting standards and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Must have:
  • Prepare and analyze group reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Develop internal control systems and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Good to have:
  • Experience with consolidation/reporting software.
  • Familiarity with SOX or equivalent frameworks.
  • Prior experience in a Big Four background.

About the role 

In this role, you are key to our external financial reporting as a publicly listed company on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and pivotal to the enhancement of external financial reporting and our internal control system and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. External Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Pivotal role in the preparation and analysis of group reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all external reporting requirements as a public company, including quarterly and annual reports.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of financial materials for investor presentations.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in financial reporting standards and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant and internal documentation is up to date.

2. Internal Controls & Framework Development

  • Continuous development and improvement of our robust internal control systems and frameworks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.            
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of internal controls to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support local finance teams in the implementation and development of their local internal controls.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration & Support

  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and verify financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit /Compliance to align the internal control system to the broader risk management strategy
  • Support the documentation of the group’s accounting practices.
  • Engage with external auditors and ensure transparency and readiness for audits.

4. Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and support junior finance staff and local reporting teams, fostering knowledge transfer and consistency in control practices.

Key Relationships:

  • With various teams and finance senior management across the Group.
  • With the business to get a deep understanding of new developments and provide insight into our businesses.
  • With external auditors and other key external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with consolidation/reporting software.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong judgment in financial decision-making.
  • Skilled communicator and team player.
  • Strong business language proficiency in English and German.
  • Hands-on mentality and high engagement level.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in external financial reporting
  • Experience in developing and implementing internal control systems and frameworks.
  • Experience collaborating across departments and with external auditors.
  • Familiarity with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) or equivalent internal control frameworks is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a Big Four background is highly valued.

The position is offered in Berlin, based on a hybrid working model and, on a full-time, permanent basis.
