Senior Server Programmer
We are looking for an experienced network gameplay programmer to work with us to expand a globally acclaimed Bethesda Games Studios IP in Unity and mobile devices, and using our Tapestry Platform.

We are looking for an experienced network gameplay programmer to work with us to expand a globally acclaimed Bethesda Games Studios IP in Unity and mobile devices, and using our Tapestry Platform, BRB’s proprietary tools and tech for rapid development of geo-spatial game content. We’re looking for a highly talented and motivated Senior Programmer who will lead a growing team for mobile and PC networked game experiences.
This position will remote work indefinitely. Later, when collocating at our offices is optimal, may elect to continue remote work, or for candidates outside of the Los Angeles area to relocate.
Responsibilities:
● Work with a team of engineers, artists and designers to execute the vision of the creative director and project leads.
● Quickly analyze and dissect large established code bases
● Author detailed documentation of complex technical systems
● Interface with the gameplay and infrastructure teams to implement and optimize new and existing gameplay and player systems that can scale to millions of players.
● Coordinate with studio CTO and producer to schedule programming priorities
● Ability to rapidly prototype and develop network systems for gameplay
Requirements:
● At least 5 years programming experience on low-level server development.
● Experience with services such as PlayFab, Google Firebase, AWS, or similar technologies.
● Experience with relational databases and Redis
● Experience on commercial game engines such as Unity, Unreal, as well as custom technology solutions.
● Experience with C++ and C#
● Mobile game development experience on Android and iOS
● Experience working with artists and designers directly in game production.
● Experience in establishing tool development pipelines (asset pipeline, exporters, etc.)
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to all levels of engineering
Desired:
● Quick and enthusiastic to learn new programming languages and technologies, such as databases and web technology.

● Coordinate with studio CTO, project director and producer to schedule programming priorities
● Ability to rapidly prototype and develop systems for gameplay
● Interface with the game server team to implement gameplay and player systems.
● Further into production, lead programming staff by frequent reviews and providing feedback on gameplay and network systems
● Familiarity with animation, physics and gameplay code in general.
Requirements:
● Experience building various types of networked gameplay mechanics.
● Experience with interfacing with realtime network systems in the client runtime.
● At least 5 years programming experience on low-level engine development.
● Have production and technology experience that produced a shipped title on PC, current console or mobile platforms.
● Experience on commercial game engines such as Unity and custom technology solutions. (Unreal experience a bonus, not initial focus)
● Experience working with artists and designers directly in game production.
● Experience in establishing tool development pipelines (asset pipeline, exporters, etc.)
● Able to fill in the gaps in game design specs
● Understanding when to rapidly prototype and when to rebuild systems from ground up
Desired:

● Strong interest in Mobile and AR technology.

Senior Character Technical Artist
We are looking for a senior Character Technical Artist with minimum 2+ years of professional game experience.
Senior Character Technical Artist
Big Red Button (BRB) is looking for a senior Character Technical Artist with minimum 2+ years of professional game experience with Maya rigs, UI tooling and Unity Animation State Machine, to join our veteran team developing Clementine’s Nightmare in collaboration with Petrol Advertising art team. This individual will work with animation, design and gameplay programmer leads to improve existing rigs, or create new custom rigs and tools supporting our keyframe animators.
If you’re passionate about making unique game experiences, prefer working with smaller indie teams, prefer to impact all aspects of art asset pipeline, while in a collaborative studio which shares similar goals to challenge and grow your skills, come join us!
This position will work remotely indefinitely.
Responsibilities:
● Create advanced character rigs and tools in Maya for stylized characters, creatures, props or environments
● Help animators push animation files from Maya through to Unity, then proactively debug issues
● Set up Unity animator state machines for characters with events to match/trigger vfx
● Set up character cloth or hair dynamics as needed
● Preserving existing UV information and generating new UVs as needed after fragmenting geometry
● Create, maintain and improve Maya Python-based asset export tools and pipeline
Requirements & Skills:
● 2-4 years advanced professional experience rigging in Maya, or 3DS Max
● Experience implementing animations in Unity (preferred) or UE4/5
● Solid understanding of rigging concepts such as constraints, IK blends, set-driven-keys, secondary joints, scripting, FBX exporting, tools and UI for prop attachments.
● Experienced with game animation and deformation pipelines
Preference to applicants with:
● Expert Max and Maya experience.
● Experience interfacing with Maya sdk
● C# scripting for tool creation in Unity
● Ability to create rigging and animation tools using Python or MEL scripting
● Animation experience to identify clean efficient meshes, and create new animations
● Advanced Motion Builder experience a plus. Not using mo-cap on current projects, but we have had, and will have projects using Mo-cap.

Senior VFX Technical Artist
We are looking for a senior Visual Effects Technical Artist with minimum 2 to 4+ years of professional game experience creating VFX in Unity.
Senior VFX Technical Artist
Big Red Button (BRB) is looking for a senior Visual Effects Technical Artist with minimum 2 to 4+ years of professional game experience creating VFX in Unity, to join our veteran team developing Clementine’s Nightmare in collaboration with Petrol Advertising art team. As the real-time VFX lead this individual will work with animation, design and programming leads to design and implement stunning and dramatic VFXs in Unity to give more depth to gameplay while playing a central role in visual direction of the game.
In a senior or lead position, your feedback to both game design and art direction will be central, as well as directing, reviewing and critiquing internal and external VFX team.

Responsibilities:
● Design and implement stunning and efficient particle systems that communicate gameplay in Unity
● Create stylized effects for a large number of weapons, melee and ranged
● Collaborate with creative and technical team to integrate emitters with animation and interactive triggers, fine-tune timing in engine and optimize run-time performance
● During pre-production quickly prototype VFX templates and explore visual styles
● During production task, review and feedback VFX wip with internal and external team, while tracking overall VFX needs for the game with game leads and producer
Requirements and Skills:
● Minimally 2, ideally 4+ years Industry experience implanting run-time particle systems in Unity
● Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Maya, working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere
● Demonstrate understanding of animation principles, color theory, shape language, lighting, all in support of gameplay clarity
● The ability to overcome technical challenges while properly adjusting schedule with production
● Experience working on mobile platforms a plus
Preferred Experience:
● Unity Animation State Machine experience
● Comfortable with hand keyed stylized animations
● Previous lead role on a shipped title
● 3rd Person action or combat game dev experience a plus
● Prior experience drafting mood board and style guides to communicate VFX visual direction to artist and non-artist team members.

This position will indefinitely work remotely.
Responsibilities:
● Work as the main point of contact for analytics of one of the top video game franchises of all time, adapted to mobile.
● Work closely with the game team to identify, develop, and provide analytical answers to challenges they face.
● Design interactive and real-time dashboards and provide data-informed insights to recommend features optimization after release & features implementation on a liveops game.
● Prepare and present analyses in an oral and/or written format to the game team.
● Write queries to import, manipulate, clean, and transform data from different sources.
● Creating and managing multiple A/B tests to gain valuable insights on KPIs including retention, acquisition, and monetization.
● Work with different teams to adapt approaches and tools to solve complex problems and find good balance between velocity, accuracy, and quality.
Requirements:
● BS in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative field
● 3+ years, minimally 1 year, of work experience in games analytics roles, building dashboards, developing data models and visualization dashboards.
● Proficiency in SQL (Kusto is a plus)
● Excellent data visualization skills (Power BI is a plus)
● Autonomy and excellent organization skills
● Strong written and oral communication skills
