Job Description

Tesla seeks a Senior Paralegal in Berlin to support its Litigation Team. Responsibilities include assisting with all litigation stages, factual case analysis (including communication with business partners), drafting legal documents (settlement agreements, etc.), guiding external counsel, preparing submissions, executing settlement solutions, maintaining litigation databases, and managing in-house litigation files. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, organizational abilities, and experience with various litigation types (mass litigation, commercial disputes). German and English fluency are required. The role reports to the Sr. Paralegal Manager.

5+ years relevant experience
Native German & Fluent English
Litigation experience in Germany
Strong organizational & analytical skills
Excellent communication skills

What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a talented Senior Paralegal to join our legal team at our Berlin location. This role will directly support Tesla’s Litigation Team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, the ability to manage and prioritize a heavy volume of tasks and duties, a strong facility for detail with a high level of organization, and solid experience with various types of litigation such as mass litigation, commercial disputes, and litigation in different jurisdiction and languages. The position will report directly to the Sr. Paralegal Manager, Litigation & eDiscovery.

What You’ll Do

Support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation with little supervision.
Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including communication with relevant business partners to establish the facts of the case.
Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters.
Navigate outside counsel through complex technical matters, collect and prepare information necessary written submissions.
Prepare and execute settlement solutions.
Maintain a database of all material litigation/claims matters in EMEA.
Support inhouse litigation matters and maintain files for individual cases.

What You’ll Bring

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally more, at a law firm and/or in-house legal department or related field, ideally with a background in statutory warranty and consumer protection laws.
Native German and fluency in English (verbal and written); additional European language is a plus.
Understanding of litigation in Germany, arbitration, and appellate procedures.
Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of matters, work efficiently and proactively, take initiative, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and oversee multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong work ethic with a goal-oriented focus as well as flexibility to take on new areas of responsibilities.
