Ramp is a financial operations platform that helps companies save time and money by combining payments, corporate cards, vendor management, procurement, travel booking, and automated bookkeeping. Powering over $80 billion in purchases annually, Ramp is building a top-tier engineering team. The ideal candidate for this Senior Software Engineer role will have a deep understanding of scalable backend systems, strong ownership, and experience driving projects from inception to production. The tech stack includes Python, Temporal, and Postgres. This role involves collaborating on technical vision, improving engineering processes, recruiting, and mentoring junior engineers.
Must have:

  • Recruit, interview, and develop interview questions, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Inspire and mentor less experienced engineers and interns.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Ability to translate business and product ideas into engineering solutions.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft.

About the Role

Ramp is on a mission to build the best engineering team. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of building scalable backend systems, a strong sense of ownership, and enjoys driving projects from inception to scaling them in production. What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate on our technical vision. Lead discussions and implementation of multiple complex projects
  • Continuously improve our engineering processes, tools, and systems that allow us to scale the code base, productivity, and the team
  • Recruit, interview and develop your own interview questions, while fostering the culture of excellence, velocity and humility
  • Inspire and mentor less experienced engineers and interns

What You Need

  • A minimum 5 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale
  • Ability to turn business and product ideas into engineering solutions
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft
