ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Senior Test Engineer for their Greensboro facility. The role involves configuring and troubleshooting data acquisition systems, interfacing with internal customers to meet testing requirements, and possessing in-depth knowledge of data acquisition systems, sensors, and applications. Responsibilities include configuring DAQ systems, instrumentation, and data storage, supporting investment requests and roadmap development for DAQ systems, implementing and commissioning new equipment, planning and implementing projects, collaborating with global counterparts on test procedures, educating staff on DAQ system operation, updating test method documentation, and developing/improving test procedures with report automation.
Must have:
  • Minimum BSc degree
  • 3-5 years experience with Analog Inputs
  • In-depth knowledge of metrology fundamentals
  • Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Great work ethic and attention to details
  • Ability to work efficiently in teams
Good to have:
  • MSc degree in Electrical or Mechanical
  • Solid understanding of vehicle bus systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN)
  • Scripting knowledge in Matlab, Python, C#, C++
  • Previous experience with Dewesoft or Ipetronik
  • Working experience with CANoe, CANalyzer and/or Kvaser Memorator

The measurement engineer will perform activities related to configuration and troubleshooting of data acquisition systems in the Greensboro facility. The position will be interfacing with internal customers to ensure testing requirements and workload is supported as needed. The candidate will possess in depth knowledge of data acquisition systems, sensors and related applications.

Responsibilities;

  • Configure and develop DAQ systems, instrumentation, and data storage processes to support internal customer requests
  • Support establishing investment requests and development of roadmap related to data acquisition systems
  • Implementation and commissioning of new equipment in collaboration with equipment vendors
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementation of projects
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to implement and adapt test procedures according to local requirements
  • Educate engineers and technicians to efficiently operate data acquisitions systems according to industry best practices
  • Updating test method documentation and instructions according to internal procedures
  • Develop and improve test procedures related to DAQ systems including report automation

Qualifications;

  • Minimum BSc degree required; MSc degree in Electrical or Mechanical is preferred

  • Solid understanding of vehicle bus systems and their protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN)
  • 3-5 years working experience with Analog Inputs such as voltage measurement, pressure, frequency, acceleration and temperature is required
  • In depth knowledge and experience with metrology fundamentals is required
  • Scripting knowledge in Matlab, Python, C#, C++ or similar is desirable
  • Previous experience with Dewesoft or Ipetronik is an advantage (Ipetronik preferred)
  • Working experience with CANoe, CANalyzer and/or Kvaser Memorator is desirable
  • Microsoft Office and general computer skills is required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
  • Great work ethic and attention to details is required
  • Ability to efficiently work in teams is necessary

 

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
