Job Description

Seeking an experienced Senior UI Artist to contribute to a new RPG experience, blending influences from various games. The role involves planning, coordinating, and finalizing UX/UI work within a cross-functional team. Responsibilities include studying competitor features, making design decisions, and focusing on player choice, retention, quality of life, accessibility, and customization, including mod support. The artist will create assets, document processes, conduct presentations, assist with technical pipelines, update assets, fix bugs, optimize assets, and mentor junior artists.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Senior UI/UX on 1+ published PC/Console AA Game
  • Strong understanding of design psychology
  • Wireframing/prototyping skills
  • Interaction design knowledge
  • Inclusive design principles
  • Portfolio of UI/UX examples
  • Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Experience with Unreal 4 and Unity
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive mentality

Job Details

We're looking for an experienced Senior UI Artist to join this team in creating a new experience for RPG players. The company is working to deliver a unique first title which combines influences from multiple games.
 
You will be part of the cross-professional UX team which is responsible for planning, coordinating, and finalizing all UX/UI related work. We study relevant features in competing games and make pragmatic choices on whether to develop something new versus taking inspiration from existing mechanics and iterating on them. Player choice, retention, quality of life, accessibility, and customization options (including mod support) are important factors when we develop features and content.
 

Skills and Knowledge:
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Senior UI/UX role on 1 (minimum) published PC or Console AA Game
  • Very good understanding of design psychology, wireframing/prototyping, interaction design, and inclusive design
  • Portfolio with relevant UI/UX examples including cross-platform wireframes, mockups, and finalized UI
  • Good Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Very good experience working with modern game engines and tools like Unreal 4 and Unity
  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Very good organizational and communication skills
  • Proactive mentality
 
Role responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with other team members to plan, and resolve dependencies and blockers
  • Take ownership of certain key UX designs and follow these through all stages of development
  • Create new assets while following technical and artistic direction to ensure the end product is of high quality and shippable
  • Write documentation for UX processes, best practices, designs, etc
  • Create and hold presentations for the team or external collaborators as needed
  • Help with technical setup of UX pipelines and workflows
  • Update existing assets for new platforms and technology
  • Fix graphical bugs and also help with the optimization of assets
  • Mentor other artists and give feedback
