Job Description

Google is offering a paid 12-14 week internship for Master's students in Software Development or Site Reliability. The internship will give you the opportunity to work on complex computer science solutions, develop scalable, distributed software systems, and collaborate on various projects. As a Software Developer Intern, you'll design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions while gaining valuable experience. As a Site Reliability Intern, you'll work on projects to keep vital systems up and running, tackling challenges like code-level troubleshooting, traffic anomaly management, and building automation infrastructure. You'll be part of a team, collaborating with peers, managers, and other teams. The internship includes personal and professional development opportunities, an executive speaker series, and community-building activities.

Must have:

Pursuing a Master's degree in software development or related fields
Experience in Software Development and coding in two or more languages (C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
Experience with data structures or algorithms

Good to have:

Currently attending a degree program in Canada
Available to work full time for 12 weeks
Experience programming in three or more languages (C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Go, Python, Typescript)
Experience with web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development

Minimum qualifications:

Pursuing a Master's degree or post secondary or training experience with a focus on subjects in software development or other technical related fields.
Experience in Software Development and coding in two or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.).
Experience with data structures or algorithms gathered from inside or outside of school or work.

Preferred qualifications:

Currently attending a degree program in Canada and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time
Penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
Experience programming in three or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Go, Python, Typescript or similar.
Experience with web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.

Software Developer Intern:

Site Reliability Intern:

You will work on software development projects to keep important systems up and running, from code-level troubleshooting of traffic anomalies to maintenance of our most cutting-edge services, from monitoring and alerts to building new automation infrastructure.
