Optiv is looking for a Sr. Azure Engineer to join the Advanced Fusion center team. The role focuses on implementing Azure systems, configurations, automation, and integrations for Optiv customers, with exposure to various cloud tools. Key responsibilities include advising clients on their Azure environment, administering Azure Active Directory, managing privileged identities, supporting hardening initiatives, performing general administration of Azure resources, collaborating with internal security teams, and troubleshooting platform-level issues. The engineer will work directly with business partners to deliver effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • Admin skills for Azure services via the Azure console
  • Experience with Entra ID, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Azure PAM
  • Networking skills: VPC, load-balancers, cloud network components
  • Experience with data storage, ADX, Sentinel (KQL), Logic Apps
  • Knowledge of cloud-first architectures, design, and presentation
  • Experience in Azure technology and SQL implementations
  • Knowledge of virtual application delivery technologies
  • Experience as a build and deployment engineer
  • Experience with deployment tools and lab management
  • Understanding of system architecture and management tools
  • Cloud Development including design, coding, testing, implementation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
Good to have:
  • Extensive experience or certifications in analytics methodologies (ML/AI)
  • Experience in the design, deployment, and support of complex systems
  • Experience in analytics and/or machine learning
  • Azure certifications
  • Knowledge of Linux or Windows systems administration
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or similar

This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S. 
  

Optiv is seeking a Sr. Azure Engineer to join the organization as a core team member of the Advanced Fusion center focusing on engineering and implementing the data and analytics platform for Optiv customers. This person will focus on the implementation Azure systems, configurations, automation, scripts, and integrations focused on security. There will be some exposure to Azure and other cloud tools, platforms, and other products.  

 

How you’ll make an impact 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor for clients regarding their Azure environment, ensuring security and operational best practices are met. 

  • Administer and optimize Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), including configuration and lifecycle management of Conditional Access policies. 

  • Manage privileged identities and implement Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-Enough-Access (JEA) strategies using Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD P2). 

  • Support hardening initiatives across Azure services, ensuring alignment with CIS benchmarks and client-specific compliance needs. 

  • Perform general administration of Azure resources including networking, storage, virtual machines, and automation. 

  • Collaborate with internal security teams and client stakeholders to drive proactive risk reduction and platform maturity. 

  • Troubleshoot platform-level issues and support incident response activities as needed. 

 

What we're hiring for 

  • Must have admin skills for most of the Azure services and managed via the Azure console. Some understanding of AWS/Google cloud services 

  • Entra ID, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Azure PAM 

  • Networking. VPC, load-balancers, other cloud network components, how cloud network works, networking to on-premise 

  • Data storage, ADX, Sentinel (KQL), Logic Apps 

  • Cloud first architectures, design and presentation 

  • Experience in Azure technology, especially data lakes, data warehouses, integrations, scripts, automations, Databricks, ETL/data factories, and any SQL implementations. 

  • Proven knowledge of virtual application delivery technologies including knowledge of disaster recovery concepts. 

  • Experience as a build and deployment engineer using industry-standard tools. 

  • Experience with deployment tools and virtual lab management. 

  • Understanding of industry-standard system architecture and system management tools. 

  • Extensive experience, education, or certification in analytics methodologies in either machine learning or artificial intelligence a plus. 

  • Experience in the design, deployment, and support of large, complex systems. 

  • Experience in analytics and/or machine learning a plus. 

  • Azure certifications will make candidates stand out. 

  • This individual will work directly with business partners and other IT team members to understand desired system requirements and to deliver effective solutions 

  • Cloud Development including design, coding, unit testing, triaging and implementation 

  • Participate and conduct code reviews with scrum teams to approve for Production deployment 

  • Able to work in a fast paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment 

  • Knowledge of Linux or Windows systems administration 

  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, Chef or similar
