The Senior Manager, Consolidations at Warner Bros. Discovery will lead global consolidation and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This role involves overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, assisting with financial reporting initiatives (external, internal, statutory), and maintaining effective financial controls (SOX compliance). Frequent interaction with senior leaders and auditors is expected. Responsibilities include leading consolidation projects, ensuring SOX controls, providing audit documentation, and managing accounting activities across diverse businesses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of US GAAP, experience with complex consolidation systems, and leadership skills.

  • Lead consolidation projects
  • Ensure effective financial controls
  • CPA required
Good to have:
  • Big 4/Public accounting background
  • SEC registrant consolidation experience
  • Experience with external auditors
  • Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP experience

Your New Role

The Senior Manager – Consolidations will be a part of the team responsible for performing the global consolidation and financial reporting of the Company, facilitating the close of the accounting books, and generating financial statements in compliance with US GAAP. This position will play a leadership role in ensuring the global consolidation and associated projects are successful and efficient. The position has frequent interaction with senior leaders in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury and Operations.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Lead consolidation projects and oversee the successful completion of multiple simultaneous workstreams.
  • Assist with financial reporting initiatives, including external, internal, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure financial controls are operating effectively including ownership of SOX controls. Ensure financial controls over systems and processes are properly functioning and sign off on control effectiveness quarterly in accordance with WBD SOX guidelines. Frequent interaction with internal and external auditors evaluating controls and other testing.
  • Provides audit and other documentation as requested from internal and external auditors (including SOX controls), tax, financial planning and analysis, etc.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience required (industry or public), minimum of 3 years of experience in supervisory/leadership role
  • Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and SOX requirements
  • Experience with complex consolidation systems
  • Experience leading system conversion and consolidation projects
  • BS/BA in related discipline from an accredited university
  • CPA required
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, deadline-oriented
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage the accounting activities for multiple diverse businesses
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to articulate key information
  • Unceasing curiosity and the courage to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Mental agility to prioritize and execute independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent work habits, including initiative, independent problem-solving abilities and ownership of work product
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Preferred experience:
  • Big 4 / Public accounting background
  • Experience with the financial consolidation of an SEC registrant
  • Experience working directly with external auditors to resolve complex accounting, consolidation and reporting issues
  • Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP experience
