Job Title: Sr. Product Designer (Full-time)
Location: Mumbai/Bangalore
Job description summary:
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of Upstox's website, and will be responsible for designing the responsive layout, visual elements, and usability across the same.
You will partner closely with product managers, UX researchers, marketing, news and content teams to translate requirements into intuitive and engaging experiences and interfaces through high-fidelity prototypes and frontend designs.
Collaborating closely with UX designers, UI Designers, and developers, you'll also be instrumental in building a scalable design system.
Align design with goals: You will make informed design decisions that meet both user needs and business, marketing, and content objectives.
Iterate and refine: You will partner closely with product managers, UX researchers, marketing, news and content teams to translate requirements into concept sketches, wireframes, and prototypes for iterative design, incorporating feedback throughout the process.
Contribute to the UI across the website: You will design and execute UI elements, guaranteeing a consistent and user-centric experience across all platforms.
Bridge the gap: You will translate UX concepts and wireframes into frontend-ready designs.
Partner with developers: You will provide detailed design specifications and ensure design consistency is implemented.
Collaborate effectively: You will partner with UX designers, UI Designers, and developers to craft compelling user experiences, maintaining a consistent brand and user experience.
Design System Champion: You will contribute to and build a scalable and flexible design system to support future product growth.

In your day-to-day role you will:
As a Sr. Product Designer (UX/UI), you will be the first representative of the Product Design function. Your expertise in visual design and illustration will be instrumental in shaping the visual identity and enhancing the user experience of our mobile and web products. You will collaborate closely with UI Designers, UX Designers, UX Motion Designers, and UX Writers, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our users enjoy a visually appealing, delightful, and intuitive experience.Please note: As part of the Product Design department, you will contribute primarily to the products’ user experience, with Brand or Marketing design requirements rarely coming your way.
What do you need to bring?
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HCI, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, though not a hard requisite
At least 5-7 years of product design experience, with a portfolio showcasing the sameDeep understanding of branding, visual design, UX, and digital marketing.
Excellent UI and visual design skills with a user-centric approach, and are passionate about branding, storytelling, and crafting engaging content
Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
You demonstrate the ability to manage projects autonomously, collaborate effectively, and embrace feedbackUp-to-date with latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.Strong organisational, analytical, and technical skills.
Adept with working with an Agile methodology and data-informed product development experience (A plus!)
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adept at explaining design to stakeholders and engineers.
Entrepreneurial spirit and strong diplomatic skills to collaborate across teams without formal authorityThrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment (We’re not kidding about this part)
Bonus Points:You have experience designing for financial apps or complex data visualisationsYou can code basic HTML/CSS or at least understand development constraintsYou are passionate about the stock market and financial literacy
