Job Description

An Oil and Gas company seeks a Senior Support Engineer to perform daily operations supporting production. Responsibilities include managing flow, understanding wiring diagrams, connecting low-voltage electronics, running sensor and network cables, troubleshooting computer networks, and working with various sensors (pressure, temperature, flow). Experience with control system protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet), PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley), and Linux devices (SSH, CLI) is essential. Knowledge of wireless communications (LoRaWAN, WirelessHART) is highly valuable. The role involves understanding Hazardous Area Classifications for electronic devices. This is a remote position based in Mexico.

Must have:

Understand wiring diagrams and low voltage electronics
Hazardous Area Classification knowledge for electronics
Computer networking and troubleshooting skills
Experience with pressure, temperature, and flow sensors
Knowledge of OPC-UA, Modbus, Profibus, or Profinet
Experience with Siemens or Allen Bradley PLCs
Linux device experience (SSH, CLI)
Knowledge of wireless communications (LoRaWAN, WirelessHART)

Good to have:

MQTT, RMQ knowledge
Docker and Kubernetes experience

To perform daily operation to support the prod

Skills

Must have

Ability to understand wiring diagrams, hooking up low voltage electronics, running sensor and networking cables

Understanding of Hazardous Area Classifications with regards to electronic devices (Sensors, PLCs, Computers, HMIs)

Fundamental understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting

Experience working with sensors (pressure, temperature, flow)

Control System Protocols

OPC-UA, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet (Minimum 1 of these. They don't have to be experts, just general experience and knowledge)

PLCs

Siemens, Allen Bradley (Preferred experience with Siemens, They don't have to be programmers, just general experience and knowledge)

Linux Devices

SSH, Command Line Interface (Network configuration, troubleshooting, executing scripts)

Knowledge of wireless communications and architectures (Radio networks ex: LoRaWAN, WirelessHART)

Nice to have

Message Brokers

MQTT, RMQ (Just general awareness of what they are, how they are used)

Containerization

Docker, Kubernetes
