The Vice President, Digital Tag Management will provide support to Owned and Paid Media through the execution, implementation, and consultation on tagging digital marketing campaign pages. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, a comprehensive understanding of on-site action tagging and paid media reporting, a focus on innovation and data privacy, and experience with various platforms like Google Analytics, Adobe, JIRA, Webtrends, CoreMetrics, ad servers, DSPs, and tag management platforms. Responsibilities include partnering with paid media stakeholders, maintaining tagging governance, placing digital media tags, quality control, collaborating on data transformation, applying data privacy controls, and providing SME input on technology evolution. The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days a week on-site in Chicago, and is a 3+ month contract.
Must have:
  • 8+ years digital marketing/advertising experience

Our client is seeking a seasoned professional for the role of Vice President, Digital Tag Management. This role is pivotal in providing support to both Owned and Paid Media through the execution, implementation, and consultation on tagging of pages tied to digital marketing campaigns.

As a part of our client's team, you will work in a highly collaborative environment, liaising with various internal and external stakeholders across different lines of business and technical delivery teams. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both on-site action tagging and the paid media reporting and measurement landscape, with a focus on innovation and data privacy adherence.

  • Hybrid in Chicago 3 days/week onsite
  • 3+ month contract


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with paid media stakeholders to provide consultation and thought leadership across search, social, mobile, display, and video, focusing on innovation and escalation
  • Maintain clear governance standards for key tagging and media/ad operations procedures
  • Place digital media tags within Tag Management Service for on-site tagging needed for campaign performance, monitoring, targeting, and other support across multiple platforms
  • Provide quality control checks and documentation on setups completed by the team to ensure best-in-class executions and launches
  • Collaborate with business partners & technology to transform data into analytically accessible and valuable data sets
  • Understand and apply relevant controls for tag deployment, data collection, and protection of data and user privacy
  • Provide critical scale to changes within tag management procedures and technology, inclusive of providing SME inputs for the evolution of the technology tied to digital tag management


Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years digital tag management experience or similar
  • Minimum 8+ years digital marketing/advertising experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in digital ad operations, media and site tagging, marketing analytics, digital campaign performance measurement with web analytic tools
  • Hands-on experience in Google Analytics, Adobe, JIRA, Webtrends, CoreMetrics, Ad Servers, Demand Side Platforms, and Tag Management Platforms.
