Description
We are seeking a Vice President, Head of Internal Audit, to lead the company’s internal audit function, based in Culver City, California. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in internal audit, with a proven track record of assessing internal controls and risk management within dynamic and creative industries. Experience within the video game or tech sectors is strongly preferred. The VP will report functionally to the Audit & Risk Committee and administratively to the CFO, ensuring independence and strategic alignment with the company's objectives.
What you will do:
Build, lead, and oversee the internal audit function across all business units, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and the company’s strategic goals.
Develop and execute a comprehensive, risk-based audit plan that addresses financial, operational, regulatory, cybersecurity, IT, and other emerging risks.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk mitigation, and governance compliance, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management and the Audit & Risk Committee on matters related to risk, controls, governance, and compliance.
Establish and implement an optimal internal audit operating model, balancing in-house resources with co-sourcing/outsourcing where appropriate.
Drive continuous improvement in audit processes, leveraging data analytics, automation, and digital internal audit tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Legal, Risk, and IT, to develop and execute a comprehensive audit plan.
Stay up to date with regulations, emerging risks, and gaming industry trends to ensure proactive risk management.
Prepare and present audit reports and findings to the Audit Committee, senior management, and other stakeholders.
Develop and manage the internal audit budget, ensuring alignment with business needs and benchmarking standards.
Build an audit team through directly hiring or co-sourcing with third parties
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, operations, engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive internal audit experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
Experience working in the video game industry or related entertainment/technology sectors.
Strong understanding of Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS), governance frameworks including COSO, COBIT, ISO, internal controls, risk management, and compliance processes.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build, manage, and motivate a high-performing team.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee.
Attention to detail and a high level of personal integrity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
Experience working with complex, multinational organizations and familiarity with enterprise risk management frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits: For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY, and WA, the annual salary range is $240,000 - $266,000, plus equity, bonus, and benefits, including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
