The ABC Affiliate Relations Intern will support four key teams within the department, contributing to fall launch sales/marketing initiatives, crafting communications and documentation, monitoring station activity, prepping programming materials, and tracking industry trends. This role involves data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform strategic decisions. The intern will also help design documentation systems, maintain internal schedules, and update the company's business-to-business website, ensuring proper access for internal and external clients. The internship provides exposure to the television landscape and the network/affiliate business model, offering a comprehensive understanding of entertainment, news, and sports programming.

About the Role & Program

The ABC Affiliate Relations segment of the Walt Disney Company is responsible for negotiating affiliation agreements with 200+ ABC affiliated TV stations throughout the US, maximizing the ABC Television Network’s distribution by selling-through key Network initiatives and communicating critical programming and operational information. The Affiliate Relations team collaborates closely with a broad number of departments throughout the company, including ABC News, ABC Entertainment, ESPN, Platform Distribution, Network Operations, Marketing/Promotion, and Research, among others.

This internship will provide exposure to the business side of the ABC Television Network and the relationship we have with our affiliates. This internship opportunity involves providing support to four key teams of the Affiliate Relations department. Some projects include helping create fall launch sales/marketing initiatives, crafting Network communications and operational documentation, monitoring station activity, prepping new season programming materials, and tracking industry trends. This internship will help provide a basic knowledge of the television landscape (including key programming areas of entertainment, news and sports) and the Network/Affiliate business model.

The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 through August 2025.

What You Will Do

  • Be involved in a number of projects that help to inform our big picture decisions as it pertains to our future offerings through collecting, analyzing, and reporting out on data

  • Help design a documentation system for urgent, streamlined access

  • Maintain and update internal schedules

  • Keeping current our business-to-business website, and ensuring the appropriate internal and external clients have the correct access

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working in collaborative environments and managing multiple projects

  • Experience with researching and/or using a range of tools to acquire information and present findings

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with using Salesforce and CMS

  • High attention to detail and experience multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Familiarity with and/or interest in broadcast television and/or media distribution

  • Previous experience (academic or internship) in media, entertainment, or related field

Education

  • Junior or Senior year preferred

  • Major or previous coursework in Business, Media, TV/Film, Management, or related field

Eligibility Requirements & Internship Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 through August 2025

  • Fully available to work 40 hours per week during a Monday through Friday schedule

  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area

  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work


The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.00 per hour.
