We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Ideal candidates will be based in Seattle, Los Angeles, or New York City.
What You'll Do:
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Generate reports detailing accounts payables status.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Ad hoc accounting task as requested.
What You've Got:
- Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience with accounting software such as Workday is a huge plus.
