If most of the above questions have triggered positive aspirations the position of an Audit Manager for work on international EU funded projects (Permanent position in Sofia) may be one that would of interest to you.
This is an unique opportunity as PwC Bulgaria leads audit related assignments for the European Commission in respect of EU funded projects, throughout the world. The successful candidate for this position would be part of an international PwC team working on these projects across the world – both through field trips and working on the projects remotely.
As an Audit Manager, you would be expected to deliver high quality services for the European Commission, complemented by enriching your professional audit experience with work across borders. You will also be responsible for coaching audit team members, providing them with constructive feedback and sharing your knowledge and expertise with them.
Requirements:
A minimum of 8 years of audit experience;
Experience in auditing EU funded projects, participation in audit/verification of EU funded projects would be an advantage but is not required. If experience in auditing EU funds is available it would be expected that it is gained in the last 10 years;
Bachelor or Master Degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related disciplines;
Membership in a national or international accounting or auditing body or institution (e.g. ACCA);
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, and experience in working in English language;
Good working knowledge – written and spoken of a second European language (German, Italian, French, Spanish or Portuguese) would be a strong advantage;
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office;
Proven audit management experience, leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities;
Proactiveness and ability to prioritize different tasks;
Strong analytical skills;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work in a team and multitasking;
Flexibility to travel abroad on a regular basis throughout the yea – mainly in Europe. Valid international passport is required.
Responsibilities:
Manage audit engagements, including the planning, execution and reporting by performing agreed-upon procedures in the form of expenditure verifications and systems audits of EU funded projects, the contracts of the assignments include grants, twinning, service and supply contracts, construction works, delegation and contribution agreements under relevant PRAG and Twinning Manuals;
Documenting the performed procedures and drafting the respective agreed-upon procedures reports;
Being part of an audit team, liaising with the European Commission and its respective Delegations, with the reporting entities and other specialist staff in the practice to provide high quality services;
Building and maintaining strong relationships with the clients;
Reporting directly to the engagement leader;
Coaching, training, evaluating and mentoring of junior colleagues;
Participate in the proposal process for new clients and projects, set and monitor budgets;
Effectively work in an international environment.
