Job Description

ByteDance is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join its Global E-Commerce Supply Chain team. This role will focus on developing and maintaining scalable and secure backend services for the company's international short video e-commerce platform, TikTok Shop. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience developing backend systems using Java, Golang, Python, or C++, a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, and experience with databases and messaging frameworks like MySQL, Redis, and Kafka. Responsibilities include developing and integrating Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and supply chain systems, optimizing backend systems for security and performance, and implementing best-in-class engineering practices.

Must have:

Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
2 to 5 years experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python/C++.
Strong software programming capabilities, exhibits good code design and coding style.
Deep understanding of data structure, algorithm design and analysis, networking, data security and highly scalable systems design.
In depth knowledge of common databases and messaging frameworks like MySQL/Redis/Kafka etc.

Qualifications

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $137750 - $237500 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
