The Consumer Messaging Strategy Manager at Netflix will be responsible for developing and executing messaging strategies across various channels (email, push notifications, in-app notifications). This role requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior and the ability to leverage data to optimize messaging performance. Responsibilities include defining strategies for specific messaging goals, interpreting data to identify best practices, partnering with cross-functional teams to create compelling messages, and collaborating with design, engineering, and data science teams. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of success in B2C messaging programs.

The Consumer Messaging Program team is responsible for Netflix-initiated messaging (email, push-notifications, in-app notifications). This includes end-to-end consumer-facing messaging strategy, messaging creation and performance. As a Messaging Strategy expert, you will be responsible for the ideation and development of evergreen and ad-hoc messages within the promotion and lifecycle portfolio.
 

You will:

  • Define strategies for specific messaging goals and projects, including tests and campaigns, as assigned by and in partnership with the Messaging Strategy Team Lead

  • Interpret data to define new best practices and actionable insights for messaging

  • Understand broader business goals and how messaging strategies can influence them

  • Partnering with Messaging Operations, work to develop messages with the cross-functional partner teams, ensuring all guidelines and principles are maintained

  • Collaborate with a team of stunning colleagues across design, engineering, data science, and marketing to develop great messaging experiences
     

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in developing and tracking B2C messaging programs, on a messaging/CRM team - ideally for an enterprise subscription brand

  • Excellent at consumer-facing positioning and communication for brands 

  • Deep understanding of messaging channels and how to leverage them, at the right times, for the right use cases 

  • Strategic, analytical thinker with a strong customer-focused mindset

  • Experience in working with enterprise self-service messaging platform required

  • Experience in working with messaging campaign management tools required

  • Experience in messaging performance management a plus 

  • Great at written communication (briefs, memos, and presentations) and verbal communication skills; timely communicator

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive alignment amid ambiguity

  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and effectively influence and contribute with concrete recommendations/next steps, across both regional and global teams

  • Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success

  • Insatiable curiosity to learn new domains, keep up with industry innovation, and constantly ask “why”

  • Bachelor's degree required

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000-$370,000.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
