Job Summary:

The ideal candidate for this entry-level business affairs professional role will have previous office experience and a general understanding of the work, processes and relevant business issues faced by television legal and/or business affairs assistants. This role also provides limited administrative support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinator support for the Business Affairs team, which may include drafting and revising deal memos, charts and agreements for a team of busy negotiators.
  • Providing limited administrative duties (meeting scheduling, T&E and related duties) for the EVP; other administrative duties related to Content Operations include updating and tracking reports, research, and handling miscellaneous tasks for the department.
  • Documenting department policies/procedures and deal terms and serving as a knowledgeable resource for the team and other departments.
  • Updating databases and various charts and reports and distributing documents to various internal stakeholders.
  • Responding to questions from other departments regarding deal terms, the status of negotiations, etc.
  • Managing and directing written correspondence, and facilitating the execution of deal memos, charts and agreements.
  • Preparing legal documents and redlines, drafting letters, contracts, and other correspondence.
  • Taking a first pass at reviewing exhibits and credits for accuracy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in a fast-paced, office environment required.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat is required.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to independently prioritize work and handle multiple tasks with set deadlines as a top priority, and possess excellent organizational and tracking skills.
  • Because of exposure to high level confidential information, a high level of integrity, discretion and professionalism is required.
  • Must be able to complete a high volume of tasks and projects quickly with little guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround.
  • Must be client-service oriented, pleasant to deal with, and have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, and the ability to easily switch gears.
  • Must live within commutable distance to Washington, DC.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous exposure to business affairs issues in entertainment media is desired

Required Education:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.


The hiring range for this position in Washington, DC is $53,300 to $71,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
