Your responsibilities include driving the social vision, staying ahead of pop culture trends, understanding Indian music, building content ideas, defining visual direction, and amplifying brand campaigns. You will also manage social media calendars, write compelling copy, and oversee online reputation management. The role requires a creative individual who can think fast, understand the audience, and create an editorial voice for the Spotify India social feed. The ideal candidate is a music enthusiast, internet-savvy, and a creative thinker who thrives on collaboration and culture.
Must have:
  • 4-7+ years of experience in social-first creative roles.
  • Proven expertise with Indian Gen Z audiences.
  • Experience with music or pop culture accounts.
  • Ability to think high-concept and daily-detail.
  • Strong understanding of design references, meme culture.
  • Excellent creative writing and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to work with clients and guide junior team members.

About the role

We are seeking a boundary-pushing, idea-generating, and pop culture-loving Creative Director - Social Media to join our team of badass creatives and help us create content that shines.
They will drive the end-to-end social media strategy and execution for a leading music/entertainment brands. From crafting trend-savvy campaigns to delivering creative excellence, you’ll shape the brand’s presence across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook. If you have a love for music/entertainment/pop culture, a knack for storytelling, and proven expertise in social media, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.

A day in the life of a Creative Director - Social Media

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creative Leadership: Lead the social vision for Spotify India, working closely with strategy, editorial, design and production teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Trendspotting & Internet Culture: Stay ahead of pop culture and social trends, especially in the Gen Z space, and translate them into relevant content for Spotify India.
  • Music-First Thinking: Act as a cultural insider with deep understanding of Indian music and artists –  must be atleast 1 genre specialist (e.g., Hip-Hop, Indie, Bollywood, South Indian Music, Punjabi).
  • Platform Expertise: Build native content ideas for platforms like Instagram, X, YouTube Shorts, Snap and emerging social apps.
  • Visual Direction: Collaborate with design teams to define the look, feel and tone of Spotify's social creatives. Referencing top notch of visuals is key
  • Campaign Amplification: Support large brand campaigns with complementary social-first storytelling and reactive creative thinking.
  • Develop monthly/weekly social media calendars and oversee the end-to-end management of campaigns.
  • Write compelling copy and scripts tailored to social-first storytelling.
  • Oversee Online Reputation Management (ORM)
What We’re Looking For:
  • 4–7+ years (depending on how cool a human) of experience in social-first creative roles (agency or brand side).
  • Proven expertise in creating content that resonates with Indian Gen Z audiences.
  • Experience with music and/or pop culture accounts is highly preferred.
  • Ability to think both high-concept (big ideas) and daily-detail (content calendars, quick-turn ideas).
  • Strong understanding of design references, meme culture, creator language and audience behavior on social.
  • Excellent creative writing and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to work closely with clients, present confidently and guide junior team members.
