Job Description

As a Data Engineer at Guy Carpenter, you will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and stakeholders to provide business value and increase the efficiency of internal colleagues. You will design, develop, and enhance data pipelines, dashboards, web applications, and other technologies. You will also stay current on analytics technology and identify new options for creating business value. This is a hybrid role based in Mexico City, requiring at least three days a week in the office.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience with data modeling (preferably with dbt).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Working knowledge of ETL/ELT and REST API principles.
  • Familiarity with Databricks or equivalent MPP tools.
  • Advanced Level of English is a Must.

Data Engineer

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team at GC. This role will be based in Mexico City. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. As a Data Engineer at GC, will work with Data Strategy data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and stakeholders from other Guy Carpenter teams to provide business value and increase the efficiency of our internal colleagues.

We will count on you to:

  • Collaborate with other engineers to design, develop, or enhance data pipelines, dashboards, web applications, and other technologies that address identified needs with maximum return on investment (ROI).
  • Stay current on analytics technology and proactively identify new options for creating business value.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical and quantitative discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as a data engineer, or similar
  • 2+ years of experience with data modeling (preferably with dbt)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Working knowledge of ETL/ELT and REST API principles and schema design across source systems, data lakes, and dashboards
  • Familiarity with Databricks or other equivalent MPP tools like Snowflake or BigQuery
  • Advanced Level of English is a Must.
