Ce que nous recherchons 

Gearbox Studio est à la recherche d’un.e directeur.trice passionné.e et expérimenté.e pour rejoindre notre équipe de développement et piloter la conception du gameplay d’un jeu FPS (First Person Shooter). En tant que directeur.trice Gameplay, tu joueras un rôle clé dans la définition de l’expérience des joueurs, en t’assurant que les mécaniques de jeu, l’équilibrage et l’immersion sont en parfaite adéquation avec la vision du projet.  


Les responsabilités 

  • Définir, en partenariat avec le directeur créatif, la vision du Gameplay qui saura exploiter les piliers du projet. Cela inclus, les mécaniques de jeu, le design de niveaux, le design de missions, la progression du jeu, le UX et les playtests.  
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les game designers pour affiner et améliorer les systèmes de jeu, notamment les combats, l'intelligence artificielle, les armes, et les interactions environnementales. 
  • Communiquer la direction design de façon claire et concise à tous les membres de l’équipe du projet ainsi qu’à ses différents partenaires.  
  • Collaborer avec le leadership du projet à établir le scope du projet et ses priorités.  
  • Guider, inspirer et supporter des équipes multidisciplinaires tout au long du projet.  
  • Réviser le travail effectué et donner du feedback clair à l’équipe afin d’encourager une culture de qualité et de responsabilité.  

 

Ce qui fait de toi le ou la candidat.e idéal.e 

  • Minimum de 6 à 8 ans d’expérience dans le domaine de la conception de jeu (Design) 
  • Avoir livré au moins 1 titre AAA en poste de leadership. 
  • Excellente maîtrise des mécaniques de gameplay spécifiques aux FPS, y compris le combat, le tir, la mobilité, l'IA, et le design de niveaux et de mission.  
  • Forte habilité pour inspirer et mobiliser les membres de l’équipe.  
  • Excellentes compétences en communication, orale et écrite, et capacité à travailler en étroite collaboration avec des équipes pluridisciplinaires. 
  • Un esprit analytique pour adapter les expériences de jeu selon le feedback utilisateur et les objectifs commerciaux. 
  • Expérience de développement avec Unreal 5 ou des langages de scripting un atout.

What we are looking for 

Gearbox Studio is looking for a passionate and experienced Gameplay Director to join our development team and lead the gameplay design of an FPS (First Person Shooter) game. As the Gameplay Director, you will play a key role in defining the player experience, ensuring that game mechanics, balance, and immersion align perfectly with the project’s vision. 


Responsibilities 

  • Define, in partnership with the Creative Director, the Gameplay vision that will leverage the project’s pillars. This includes game mechanics, level design, mission design, game progression, UX, and playtests. 
  • Work closely with game designers to refine and improve game systems, including combat, artificial intelligence, weapons, and environmental interactions. 
  • Clearly and concisely communicate design direction to all team members and external partners. 
  • Collaborate with project leadership to establish the project’s scope and priorities. 
  • Guide, inspire, and support multidisciplinary teams throughout the project. 
  • Review completed work and provide clear feedback to encourage a culture of quality and accountability. 

 

What makes you the ideal candidate 

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in game design. 
  • Delivered at least 1 AAA title in a leadership position. 
  • Excellent mastery of gameplay mechanics specific to FPS, including combat, shooting, mobility, AI, and level and mission design. 
  • Strong ability to inspire and motivate team members. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Analytical mindset to adapt gameplay experiences based on user feedback and business objectives. 
  • Experience with Unreal 5 or scripting languages is a plus.
