SummaryBy Outscal

Senior Features Engineer needed for game development. 5+ years exp. in game features development, UI, C# & Unity DOTS. Entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative & passionate.
Bonfire Studios is looking for a Senior Features engineer to partner closely with our development team to both drive and build our features end-to-end, from the UI to the backend, for our first game.

Bonfire Studios is a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment where every developer’s voice shapes the company, the game, and the tasks we work on each day. As an engineer on our team, you will impact the technology that powers our first title and create an amazing experience for our players.

About the role:

    • Your main focus will be on features both across the UI and backend, in areas such as social, meta-progression and game flows, translating creative visions into technical realities.
    • You'll be developing game features, systems and tools leveraging Unity's new Data-Oriented Tech Stack (DOTS) in C# and UI in Blend/XAML.
    • Experience in these technologies is great, an aptitude for picking up new technologies is even better.
    • You will help drive these end-to-end features, helping shape the design and stand up the systems while collaborating with fellow engineers and designers.
    • Our team is highly collaborative, we design and review things together.

We’re excited about you because you…

    • Have at least 5 years experience working as a software engineer with a focus on game features development, though you will likely have more.
    • Are passionate about UI and features development, understanding how important it is for the user experience.
    • Are going to contribute to the design and implementation of the end-to-end features for our first game.
    • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and passionately self-start and self-direct projects.
    • Love pitching in other areas and collaborating with the people you work with.
    • Have a growth mindset and also care about helping others develop.
    • Are as passionate about the creative process and developing games as we are!
The base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $290,000. The range doesn't tell the whole story - we are always open to candidates at different stages in their careers and consider candidates' potential impact holistically, not just their years of experience or skill level. There is also more to our total comp package than salary, we offer equity to every new hire as well as a comprehensive benefits package and more. We will be happy to share more about our compensation opportunities when we chat with you!
