The Finance Manager, APAC, oversees all accounting and finance operations for the APAC organization, ensuring alignment with Milestone's objectives and compliance with reporting requirements. This role serves as a financial business partner to APAC and global leadership, maximizing ROI through sales and cost analysis. Responsibilities include managing pricing strategies, acting as a liaison with headquarters, and providing leadership and support to the APAC finance team. Key tasks involve overseeing accounting functions (A/R, A/P, T&E, GL, commissions, payroll, tax, transfer pricing), cost control, treasury management, internal controls, financial statement reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and vendor management. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, along with proficiency in financial reporting standards and Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have:

To be successful in this position, the Finance Manager must have at least three years of experience leading a team, a demonstrated knowledge of financial and reporting standards in Asia Pacific countries, and at least five years of experience in full-cycle accounting at a private company with a history of progressive responsibilities. This  person is comfortable working in a two-dimensional matrix organization, collaborating with key stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region, the global finance team, and across different time zones, therefore a business-partnership attitude, excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as high ethical and delivery standards are of utmost importance.

You will:

  • Oversee the Accounting and Finance operations for the APAC organization, ensure that all financial data and processes are aligned with Milestone’s objectives, and all compliance and reporting requirements for the Milestone group are met at all times.
  • Be the Financial Business Partner to our APAC management team and global leadership and help us maximize our returns on investments – analyses sales and costs, develops insights, and provide recommendations for improvement actions.  
  • Be the centralized point of control on our pricing and pricing strategies, considering our go-to-market resources and strategy in each territory, and in accordance with our profitability targets.
  • Be the liaison between the APAC organization and the Finance/Accounting departments at our headquarters.

Tasks:  
 

  • Oversee all key accounting functions in the APAC region – Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, General Ledger Accounting, Commissions, Payroll, Tax and Group Transfer Pricing, and provide leadership and support to the team in these areas.
  • Cost controlling: Develop and implement cost control systems to monitor and manage OPEX and CAPEX effectively, identify cost reduction opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Treasury: Oversee APAC’s cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability, maintain relationships with financial institutions and manage banking arrangements.
  • Internal Controls: Design, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory and Group requirements.
  • Accounting: Responsible for timely reporting and management of financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets including all entities in the APAC: Singapore, Australia, India, Japan, South Korea.  
  • Reporting: Delivers monthly and weekly reports to ensure that management and our sales organization have up-to-date sales, pricing, cost and profitability performance available at all times. 
  • Account Payables and Vendor Management: Establishes relations with accounting/payroll vendors. Ensure governance of accounting process and local compliance, and accuracy of payments.
  • FP&A: Manages the budgeting and forecasting processes, through strong collaboration with the sales organizations and all cost center owners.
  • Account Receivables: Oversees the processes of accounts receivables for the APAC’s distributors and customers in accordance with established Group policies.  
  • Assists in preparing presentations – especially on financial results - for APAC and Global Finance Management teams.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to the Asia Pacific finance team.
  • Some travel activity is required, approximately 3-5 weeks per year.



Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance and a certified public accountant (CPA).
  • 7 to 10 years’ of working experience is required, with at least 3 years of managerial experience.
  • Solid understanding of regional financial reporting and accounting standards such as the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), India and Australian Accounting Standards. 
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel and Powerpoint, Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Sharepoint and Concur.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience from working with international companies will be highly regarded.
