Job Summary

Job Description

This role requires a Google Cloud Engineer with 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure and solutions on the GCP platform. Responsibilities include developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools; deploying and managing GCP services like Compute Engine, App Engine, GKE, and Cloud Functions; automating deployment pipelines with CI/CD tools; setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting; conducting security reviews; and assisting with capacity planning and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Kubernetes, containerization, scripting (Python, Bash), DevOps principles, and experience with data engineering and AI/ML services on GCP. Agile/Scrum methodology exposure is beneficial.

Project description

We are looking for a Google Cloud Engineer experienced in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and solutions on the GCP platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cloud architecture, automation, and best practices for deploying secure and scalable systems.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain GCP services, including Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Cloud Functions.
• Automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using GCP Stackdriver (now Cloud Operations).
• Conduct regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments.
• Assist in capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies.

**Technical Skills**
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Compute, Networking, Storage, BigQuery, and AI/ML tools.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and containerization technologies like Docker.
• Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Google Cloud Build.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or GCP Monitoring.
• Experience with data engineering tools such as Dataproc, Dataflow, or BigQuery.
• Knowledge of AI/ML services on GCP, such as Vertex AI or AI Hub.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

Cloud engineer roles and responsibilities involve performing a variety of tasks on a routine basis. These are some typical duties of cloud engineers:

Working with stakeholders to understand the modifications they wish to apply to their current systems

Analysing current systems to find flaws that can jeopardise cloud security

Uploading business information to a cloud computing platform and setting up simple retrieval mechanisms for data

Staying updated on advancements in the field of cloud computing to advise businesses and clients on industry best practices

Increasing cloud storage capacity to store more files and crucial corporate data

Ensuring the protection of data in computer systems by working with cybersecurity and IT staff

Troubleshooting issues pertaining to cloud application failure or security flaws

Creating and installing cloud computing solutions in accordance with client or employer requirements

Automating specific system operations to enhance efficiency and speed

Testing designs to find and fix mistakes and make system improvements

Evaluating and identifying the best cloud solutions in collaboration with engineering and development teams

Developing, establishing and implementing modular cloud-based applications

Locating, evaluating and fixing infrastructure risks and deployment problems

Periodically evaluating computer systems and offering suggestions for performance enhancements

Offering support and guidance to meet customer requirements

Skills

Must have

5+ years of epxerience
