The Role

We are seeking an aspiring or experienced medical writer to join our Adis Drug Review writing group reviewing new or established pharmacological agents to define their clinical potential and place in disease management.  These reviews are published under the writer’s name in the Adis family of Journals. Specific responsibilities of this role include delivering quality editorial content to meet customer requirements – including reviewing and editing work to ensure quality standards are sustained; project managing the article from initial outline to publication; and liaising with key stakeholders including global colleagues, industry and academic contacts, Journal Editors and Publishing staff, to ensure a balance of commercial and editorial needs are met.

We pride ourselves on our inclusive culture and as well provide company subsidised medical insurance and enhanced KiwiSaver contributions.

We are looking for someone with a background in:

  • Pharmacy/life science/pharmacology/medicine or a related biomedical field. A PhD is preferred, although a post graduate degree level qualification or equivalent with an appropriate level of writing experience will also be considered.
  • Previous healthcare sector experience will be an advantage.

Ideally, the successful candidate is:

  • Interested in drug development and use in clinical practice.
  • Able to analyse, synthesise and present complex information clearly and accurately.
  • Able to manage multiple long-term projects to timeframes.
  • Able to develop effective working relationships with others.
  • Self-motivated, highly organised, flexible and deadline-orientated.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.

How to apply:
If you think you have the skills and motivation for success, please apply via our corporate career web site. You will need to include your CV and a covering letter.  Your cover letter must detail the following:
•    What interests you about the role
•    The skills and knowledge you can offer
•    Your relevant work experience

Candidates will be asked to undertake a writing test to assess their skills.

Please note we will only accept applications from candidates who have a current New Zealand work visa or are permanent residents/citizens.

This position is based in our Auckland office in New Zealand. Candidates must have the right to work in New Zealand and be able to commute to the office.
