Job Description

The Planner/Scheduler III at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts provides advanced strategic and detailed planning, scheduling, and materials control for Horticulture & Resort Enhancement within Facilities and Operations Services (FOS). Responsibilities include maintaining asset and job plan records in Maximo, creating comprehensive look-ahead schedules, ensuring compliance, coordinating with other teams, using business metrics for performance analysis, supporting project strategy and execution, participating in audits, developing SOPs and training, making strategic decisions, and mentoring others. The role requires experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or project planning, proficiency in various software (Excel, Business Objects, Primavera, Akwire, MS Project), and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop job plans.
Must have:
  • 3+ years experience in planning
  • Proficiency in MS Project & other tools
  • Excellent communication & analysis skills
  • Experience with CMMS (Maximo preferred)
  • Ability to develop job plans and schedules

Planner / Scheduler III provides advanced strategic and detailed planning, scheduling, and materials control to support Horticulture & Resort Enhancement planning within the Facilities and Operations Services (FOS) organization with incremental levels of responsibility including leadership and training activities.

This is a Full-Time role.

This position reports to the Planning Mgr.

What You Will Do: 

  • Maintain asset, job plan, and preventative maintenance records in Maximo - Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) to support compliance, and show quality standards. 

  • Provide detailed, comprehensive look-ahead schedules with the supported teams to ensure labor and material resources. 

  • Ensure compliance with state and company requirements, and show quality targets. 

  • Coordinate activities between other teams including Operations, Safety, Engineering, Training, and Systems. 

  • Use business metrics to share team performance with partners, promoting a culture of constant improvement. 

  • Support strategy, planning, and execution for projects. 

  • Participate in audits to ensure documentation and execution follow standards. 

  • Develop system SOPs and training. 

  • Make decisions necessary to align with strategic goals. 

  • Mentor / develop others in all aspects of planning/scheduling. 

Required Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or project planning. 

  • Comfort with understanding and conveying written and verbal data and analysis to partners at all levels. 

  • Use Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Business Objects, Primavera, Akwire, MS Project, and other tools to model, analyze data, draw conclusions, draft job plans, and make recommendations. 

  • Interpret engineering drawings. 

  • Experienced in technical writing of job plans using standards and source materials, and developing Preventative Maintenance strategies to improve the use of resources. 

  • Develop level-loaded project and labor schedules. 

  • Experience in multiple disciplines of planning/buying /scheduling. 

  • Develop cogent business cases to improve team efficiency; able to develop, plan, and status complex projects, schedules, and presentations; able to support teams and projects with some guidance. 

  • Represent Engineering Services Integration in meetings with Resort partners. 

  • Exemplify the 5 Disney Keys: Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency. 

  • Have the skills and attributes of a Planning Manager and be able to act on their behalf.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with CMMS systems, especially Maximo. 

  • Weekend/Nights & Holiday Availability and third-shift hours.

Preferred Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $101,800.00-$126,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
