Onward Search is seeking a Product Manager I for a 3-month contract opportunity with a large eCommerce company. Located in San Jose, CA, with remote options, this role focuses on managing new payment vendors and invoicing solutions. Responsibilities include product planning, design, development, and execution; gathering and prioritizing customer requirements; defining product vision and strategy; collaborating with cross-functional teams; creating PRDs and MRDs; leading beta programs; and developing product positioning and messaging. The ideal candidate will have 1-8 years of experience in Product Management, strong knowledge of payments, and experience with tools like Tableau, Zio for SQL, and Kibana.

The position is located in San Jose, CA, but is open for remote work. The role is a 3-month contract opportunity.

As a Product Manager on the Payments team, you will play a key role in managing new payment vendors and invoicing solutions. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with a dynamic team to help shape the product strategy and roadmap for a company at the forefront of eCommerce innovation. This role offers a chance to influence product development, engage with cross-functional teams, and drive product success at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer product planning, design, development, documentation, and execution throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements, define the product vision, and work closely with R&D, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and support to meet revenue and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Ensure alignment of product and marketing efforts with the company’s overall strategy and goals.
  • Define product strategy and roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business objectives.
  • Deliver product requirement documents (PRD) and marketing requirement documents (MRD), with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
  • Lead beta and pilot programs with early-stage products.
  • Develop core product positioning and messaging, and perform product demos for customers.
  • Maintain expertise on competitive products and market trends.
  • Act as a leader within the organization, fostering collaboration and driving success.
  • Collaborate with external partners to explore partnership and licensing opportunities.
  • May contribute to pricing strategies, sales tools, collateral, and training for the sales team.

Requirements:

  • 1-8 years of experience in Product Management.
  • Strong knowledge of payments and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with Tableau, Zio for SQL, and Kibana for monitoring is preferred.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and SQL tools will be helpful.
