The Senior Distribution Specialist at Disneyland International coordinates and handles the export and import of international shipments, ensuring timely delivery to consignees. Responsibilities include resolving declaration issues within ERP software and customs regulations, managing records retention, collaborating with partners in Japan and China, and coordinating the application/renewal of necessary licenses and permits. The role requires expertise in international transportation regulations, customs clearance, and various export documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, EEI Filing, etc.). Operational support includes packaging, label creation, invoice handling, and data entry in SAP. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of logistics, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

About the Role & Team

Disneyland International (DLI) is responsible for handling The Walt Disney Company’s interest in Disney theme parks and resorts located in Japan, China and Hong Kong. DLI Procurement & Exporting Department liaise with, Oriental Land Company, Walt Disney Attractions Japan, joint venture companies of Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disney Resort, and other related areas, in providing goods and services not available locally!

What Will You Do?

  • We coordinate and handle the Export and Import of international shipments. Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods to our designated consignees.
  • Promote our status as a PCoE for The Walt Disney Company.
  • Present creative and innovative solutions to issues as they arise.
  • Resolve declaration issues within the parameters of our ERP software, customs regulations and our finance billing.
  • Lead Records retention that follows government regulations and company policies. Collect information for internal audits on demand. Work with corporate partners to maintain shipping records and align with government regulations.
  • Coordinate effective communication with our business partners in Japan and China while being mindful of the cultural differences for these respective countries.
  • We are available as needed to ensure communication is effective for different time zones.
  • Coordinate the application and/or renewal of carnets, department licenses, transaction bonds, and powers of attorney as applies to importing and exporting.
  • Settle Harmonized System Code for a broad spectrum of commodities for both Imports (HTSUS) and Exports (Schedule B).
  • Ensure that DLI’s export documentation is aligned with all regulations and meets our consignee’s requirements. Must have familiarity with forms such as a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Shipper's Export Declaration (EEI Filing), Shipper's Letter of Instruction, Bill of Lading, House Air Waybill, Animal Health Certificate, US Fish and Wildlife Import/Export Declaration and Certificate of Origin.
  • Lead all aspects of or physically pack commodities to safely traverse the commercial transportation systems. Arrange for crating or other packaging as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive operational support to the shipping/receiving area, including crafting FedEx, UPS or DHL labels, handle freight related invoices for payment, monitor and input data entry in relation to inbound and outbound shipments phone coverage, filing, logging, and supply ordering and stocking.
  • Complete order related SAP transactions such as (but not limited to): Goods Receipts, Service Entry, Stock Transport Orders, and Post Goods Issue.
     

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • In depth knowledge of logistics operations, international transportation regulations and customs clearance to include Incoterms, HS code classification, EEI Filing, and ECCN classification.
  • Ability to develop strong networks and establish positive relationships with internal and external collaborators.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to be self-directed and work with minimal mentorship when balancing multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with complementary teams and individuals at all organizational levels, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills with precise attention to detail for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and able to drive company vehicle
     

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, or Logistics operations.
     

Preferred Education and Certifications

  • Import Broker training and Dangerous Goods (DG) Certification
  • Competence with Federal Express, DHL, and UPS computerized systems.
  • Computer proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office preferred

The hiring range for this position in California is $70,600.00 - $86,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
