Job Description
As a Senior Finance Manager at OKX, you will oversee and manage areas including accounting, taxation, internal controls, cost management, accounts payable, management reporting, and regulatory reporting. You will prepare financial statements and reports according to IFRS/GAAP standards, including adjustments for crypto-specific requirements. You will also coordinate with auditors and regulatory authorities, contribute to business development with financial forecasts, and drive initiatives to streamline financial processes. This role also involves establishing a monthly close process, adapting the group’s cost management system, developing Finance Policies and ICAAP frameworks, and navigating regulatory requirements with the MFSA. You will also be keeping current with evolving financial reporting standards and tax obligations in Malta. The role involves setting up the local banking infrastructure and managing day-to-day financial operations.
Must have:
- CPA Qualified, Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar
- Over 6 years of experience in financial services or crypto.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations.
- Self-starter problem solver and effective communication skills.
- Understanding of cost management framework and AP process.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Outstanding attention to detail.

- Experience working across time zones and cross-cultural teams
- Experience working at a crypto exchange!
- Passionate about blockchain technology and crypto payments
- MBA, ACCA or CPA or professional accounting qualification

What You’ll Be Doing

Oversee and manage areas including accounting, taxation, internal controls, cost management, accounts payable, management reporting, and regulatory reporting.

Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in line with IFRS/GAAP standards, incorporating adjustments for crypto-specific requirements.

Coordinate and lead interactions with auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure clear financial reporting and meet statutory audit obligations.

Contribute to business development by providing financial forecasts and ROI analyses.

Drive initiatives to streamline financial processes, implement automation, and enhance efficiency in areas such as transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting.

Establish a monthly close process for the local entity and integrate it with the consolidated group close.

Adapt the group’s cost management system for localised needs and requirements.

Develop Finance Policies and ICAAP frameworks focused on financial and regulatory reporting.

Act as a functional leader in navigating regulatory requirements with the MFSA.

Keep current with evolving financial reporting standards and tax obligations in Malta.

Assist in setting up the local banking infrastructure.

Manage the day-to-day financial operations.
What We Look For In You
- CPA Qualified, Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar
- Over 6 years of relevant experience in financial services or the crypto industry, specializing in derivatives, futures, options, and perpetual instruments
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS mandatory; and tax regulations
- Self-starting problem solver, able to self-identify and execute new tasks as they emerge, and solve problems proactively to full completion without significant direction
- Clear and effective communication skills are critical
- Understanding of the cost management framework and how to connect it with a systematic AP process
- The skillset to work within the demands of a fast-paced startup environment
- Outstanding attention to detail
