Job Description

This role is for a Senior Front End Engineer focused on digital experiences and application development. The engineer will be part of a global team, designing, coding, testing, and debugging software modules for Angular applications, and deploying web components through automated pipelines. The role requires a strong understanding of web technologies and frameworks, with the opportunity to shape a critical technology initiative in an Agile environment. This position involves working with Angular (8x-16), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES5 and ES2015+), Typescript, and Node.js. Must have:
  • 5+ years of Angular experience (8x-16).
  • Strong understanding of DOM, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript & Typescript.
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Deep knowledge of ES6+ features and syntax.
  • Experience working with CSS; experience with LESS, SASS, SCSS, or similar pre-processors is a plus.
  • Dependency injection patterns and creating custom plugins for Angular.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks, such as bootstrap, tailwind, and material.
  • Experience working with JSON and REST APIs.
  • Experience creating complex SPAs.
  • Understanding of debugging.
  • Experience testing JavaScript (Angular) code - Jasmine and Protractor preferred but not required.
  • Experience with unidirectional data flow patterns (Redux, etc.).
  • Experience with RxJS or other Reactive programming techniques/libraries.
  • Writing Unit tests in Jasmine framework.
  • Experienced with Github, along with best practices around branching strategies.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Understanding of Security and Identity Management processes, best practices, and technologies experience with OIDC, OAuth2 and Okta is advantageous.

We are now building an Engineering Team in Cluj to work alongside our teams in Dublin and across the world, leveraging the architectural & engineering standards, best practices, and processes that will guide the scaled development of the platform. We are seeking a hands-on Front End Engineer for Digital Experiences & Application Development based in the EMEA Hub in the vibrant Cluj offices.

Marsh McLennan (MMC) has established its EMEA Technology Hub in Cluj, Romania, reflecting our commitment to innovation and excellence. This hub is central to our digital strategy, addressing emerging challenges and enhancing service delivery through advanced technology solutions that empower our clients and promote sustainable growth.

This role will be a technical expert for the global team, engaged in the development and implementation of this exciting innovative, strategic technology platform. The focus area for this role will be the technical development of applications within this domain.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to shape this critical technology initiative, working with other senior engineers around the world to deliver a large-scale Platform that will transform our business.

We will count on you to:

  • Provide hands-on software engineering expertise to distributed technology teams building and maintaining Angular apps.
  • Become part of a truly Agile team which is self-organizing.
  • Continuously learn about new technologies and evolving best practices.
  • Design, code, test and debug software modules and meet project plan goals.
  • Implement projects with limited direction from senior software developers.
  • Develop web components in the latest web frameworks.
  • Cloud deployment of the web components via automated pipelines
  • Escalate problems as appropriate.

What you need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience with Angular (8x-16).
  • Strong understanding of the DOM, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES5 and ES2015+) and Typescript.
  • Strong experience with Node.js.
  • Deep knowledge of ES6+ features and syntax.
