Lucid Reality Labs is seeking a Senior Full Stack Javascript Developer to contribute to next-generation XR solutions. The role primarily focuses on back-end development (80%) using TypeScript and NestJS, with 20% front-end work using React. Responsibilities include designing and implementing server-side solutions, maintaining existing code, creating JSON-based server APIs, and collaborating with Unity developers. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of TypeScript, NestJS, React, SQL-based databases, Docker, design patterns, and testing. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for back-end development (approximately 80% of your tasks) to build and maintain robust, scalable server-side solutions. The remaining 20% of your responsibilities will involve front-end work using React. We are looking for an accomplished engineer who excels at designing, optimizing, and deploying sophisticated back-end systems, yet is comfortable contributing to front-end needs when necessary.

Job requirements

What you’ll be working on:

  • Designing, estimating, and implementing both frontend and backend architecture of different complexity from ground on;

  • Maintaining the existing code base;

  • Creating JSON-based server APIs with generated documentation;

  • Estimating and writing frontend logic in Single Page Applications;

  • Collaboration with the Unity developers for API integration.


Required skills:

  • Strong knowledge of TypeScript, NestJS, React, and any kind of SQL-based database;

  • Docker management;

  • Experience in writing or leading the NestJS backend services from scratch;

  • Experience in writing or leading the React app from scratch;

  • Strong understanding of design patterns and antipatterns;

  • Covering the meaningful pieces with tests;

  • Experience with any cloud service;

  • Providing the estimates on different scales, starting with tasks and ending with the full project;

  • Good spoken and written English.


Bonus points:

  • Experience with high-load systems;

  • Experience with AWS Services;

  • Vue.js knowledge;

  • Having an open-source pet project;

  • Experience with PostgreSQL, and any NoSQL database;

  • Experience with any kind of WebXR framework;

  • FRP (Functional Reactive Programming) knowledge.
