If you are someone who enjoys working in a results-driven and high-performing international culture and thrive in a creative and dynamic environment, this is the role for you.

Nasdaq is continuously revolutionizing markets and undergoing transformations while we adopt new technologies to develop innovative solutions, constantly aiming to rewrite tomorrow. As a SOX Audit Manager, you will play a key role in driving the financial reporting control environment at Nasdaq.

Nasdaq Internal Audit works closely with the core business lines to ensure the company has controls in place to mitigate the risks that could affect the viability of our businesses. Using a risk-based approach, we examine new and existing processes that could pose a risk to Nasdaq and evaluate the control environment that exists to manage those risks. The SOX Manager and testing team will play a key role in ensuring that SOX controls are designed and operating effectively to ensure that Nasdaq’s financial reporting is accurate and reliable.

We are looking for candidates who share our values along with a genuine desire and drive to deliver top quality output.

With this position:

We are looking for a dedicated SOX Manager to join our Internal Audit team. The SOX Manager will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of the company's internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SOX compliance, internal controls, and risk assessment methodologies. The SOX Manager will be responsible for reviewing SOX workpapers and analyzing observations for a team of technology and business SOX testers/auditors.

Your role and responsibilities:

As a part of the Global Internal Audit team, you will primarily be responsible for developing, planning, executing and reviewing procedures to evaluate SOX compliance.

In this role, you will lead a team of SOX testers and work with process and control owners throughout the company and our external auditor. You will work with and learn from subject matter experts and have the opportunity to understand the nuts and bolts of Nasdaq.  Besides working closely with your colleagues in Bangalore, you will also work with teams in other countries.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Lead SOX compliance audits to assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Evaluate control deficiencies and work with Management to develop remediation plans.
  • Execute and report on the quality of SOX controls across all risk creating areas (operations, finance, technology).
  • Deliver against multiple and often time concurrent projects, managing conflicting priorities to achieve results on time.
  • Manage a team of SOX testers/auditors by providing guidance and coaching.
  • Provide input to and explain smart control recommendations.
  • Utilize automated audit tools as an integral part of SOX testing.

We expect you to have:

  • At least 12+ years of relevant experience in SOX compliance with minimum of 4 years into end-to-end Team Management.
  • Experience in risk-focused SOX, internal audit, accounting and/or technology experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and review audit workpapers with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player, approachable, and collaborative.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Education Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or higher

It would be great if you have professional certifications:

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), and/or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
