Job Description

The Solutions Engineer, SaaS Specialist, works with the Milestone VSaaS Sales team to position Kite product solutions to prospective customers. This involves technical analysis, consultation, and demonstrating complex solutions clearly. Responsibilities include defining product requirements, conducting demonstrations, implementing pilot installations, providing technical expertise in meetings and calls, creating RFP responses, providing product feedback, tracking interactions in Salesforce, and maintaining product knowledge. The role also involves supporting trade shows, building customer relationships, collaborating with other teams, and approximately 25% travel. Post-purchase support and client onboarding are also key aspects.
Must have:
  • 5+ years customer-facing experience in sales engineering or IT
  • Advanced technical knowledge in Enterprise Physical Security and Cloud IoT
  • Knowledge of storage solutions (NAS, SAN)
  • In-depth networking principles and IP protocol knowledge
  • Experience configuring/troubleshooting Linux and Windows OS
  • Understanding of cloud and hybrid client-server-storage architecture
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • IT certifications (MCSE, VCP, CCNA, CompTIA A+)
  • Physical security industry background in VMS and Access Control
  • Solution selling experience/training

Are you a believer in technology at its finest? Do you enjoy providing technical support in a SaaS environment? If so, you could be our next Solutions Engineer, SaaS Specialist! 

The Solutions Engineer, SaaS Specialist, will work closely with the Milestone VSaaS Sales team in a technical sales capacity to position solutions involving Milestone’s Kite products and services to prospective customers. This entails technical analysis and consultation to ensure our cloud solutions and the technical design of the solution adequately solve the customer’s challenges. The Solutions Engineer must be able to articulate and demonstrate technically complex solutions in a manner easily understood by various audiences.  

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting all technical aspects of a project throughout the sales process. Product presentations and support provided through conference calls and on-site meetings are important aspects of the function. Throughout the proposal process, you articulate and demonstrate VSaaS solutions, influence customers’ technical requirements, and position products relative to the competition. You are often involved with the client post-purchase and assist with client onboarding activities. 

The preferred candidate for this position will be located in the West Coast, Rocky Mountain, or Central regions of the USA.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Define product functional requirements based on customer needs and document specific configuration requirements 
  • Conduct in-depth Arcules VSaaS technical product demonstrations and presentations 
  • Implement pilot and proof of concept installations 
  • Provide technical solution expertise in meetings and on conference calls in support of the sales team 
  • Responsible for RFP technical responses and security questionnaires 
  • Provide technical feedback to the Product Management team to drive continuous improvement and provide superior customer experience 
  • Track all interactions with Salesforce 
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Milestone’s VSaaS products 
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of products provided by the Open Platform Community, including software and hardware solutions 
  • Build report as the trusted SME with our Sales teams and System Integrators with proactive training and education initiatives within the supported territory 
  • Support trade shows and exhibitions, assisting in equipment setup/teardown, conducting demonstrations, and engaging in solutions-oriented discussions 
  • Develop strong relationships with Milestone customers and technology partners 
  • Work with customer experience and customer care teams during the transition from pre-sales to post-sales implementation 
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time 
  • Other duties as needed 

 

Your Experience 

To succeed in this role, you will need at least five years of customer-facing experience in sales engineering or IT, Physical Security, or SaaS. You will also need to demonstrate a strong technical foundation through your hands-on experience and/or education and certifications 

  • Advanced technical knowledge in the network discipline of Enterprise Physical Security and Cloud IoT solutions 
  • Knowledge of storage solutions such as NAS, SAN, etc. 
  • In-depth knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol 
  • Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows OS 
  • Deep understanding of cloud and hybrid client-server-storage architecture 
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Exhibit a customer-centric focus 
  • Possess curiosity and a thirst for knowledge 
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment 
  • Solution selling experience and/or training a plus  
  • IT certifications such as MCSE, VCP or CCNA, CompTIA A+ a plus 
  • Physical security industry background in VMS and Access Control a plus

This position's annual on-target earnings (OTE) range from $108,498 to $179,739, with most candidates falling in the $120,034 to $150,030 range. Pay is based on the level, location, complexity, responsibility, and job duties of the specific position and is just one component of Milestone’s total compensation package. Additionally, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes medical/dental benefits, FSA or HSA, 401k with 6% Safe Harbor employer match, paid parental leave, generous PTO (20 days' vacation, 10 days paid sick time, and 12 company holidays), fully paid Short Term disability policy, fully paid Long Term disability policy, and Life Insurance.
