Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to network capacity forecasting and planning. You'll work with stakeholders to define requirements, manage project schedules, and communicate with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include developing long-term strategies, aligning stakeholders, providing quantitative analysis, and launching new processes to improve Google's ability to deliver network capacity on time. You'll need strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and experience in software architecture and development within the network capacity planning domain.

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience in software architecture, development of systems and algorithms in the network capacity forecasting and planning area.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to manage ambiguity of the problem space, requirement changes, and priority adjustments.
  • Ability to manage without authority.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to construct, articulate, and defend simple and impactful messages/insights from analysis.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Deliver cross-functional projects/programs with predictability and ensure they provide value to customers, manage software programs that include software components and algorithms used for network capacity forecasting and planning.
  • Work with core engineering teams to develop and articulate long-term strategy and short-term plans, develop road-maps, engage teams and engineers, and set the pace for development. 
  • Align team members and stakeholders, communicate widely and transparently, keep stakeholders appraised of progress through periodic updates and checkpoints such as engineering reviews.
  • Provide quantitative analysis to drive project delivery, technology reviews, guide technical proposals, and build consensus amongst cross-functional teams.
  • Design and launch new processes, institute process improvements, help program teams scale, and improve Google’s ability to deliver network capacity on-time.
