Position Overview 

As the Test Automation Leader, you will play a key leadership role in driving the company’s test automation transformation journey. Reporting to the Verification & Validation (V&V) Director in India, you will oversee the delivery of major automation initiatives, ensure technical excellence, and spearhead the Test Automation Center of Excellence (COE) from India. This role combines strategic leadership, technical expertise, and project management to deliver robust automation solutions integrated Automated Fare Revenue collection systems. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Test Automation Transformation: Own the end-to-end delivery of the company’s test automation transformation initiative, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards. 

• Vendor Oversight: Act as a technical authority to evaluate, challenge, and validate the strategies and delivery of vendors executing the transformation. 

• Technical Leadership: Design and implement scalable automation frameworks for functional, API, mobile, and hardware integration testing using tools such as Selenium, Appium, and custom test harnesses. 

• COE Leadership: Head the Test Automation COE, setting the vision, driving innovation, and standardizing automation practices across the organization. 

• Fare Collection System Projects: Spearhead automation efforts for fare collection systems, ensuring seamless integration of software, hardware, APIs, and devices like card readers, gates, and mobile applications. 

• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Partner with engineering, QA, and product teams to understand requirements, design strategies, and address technical challenges effectively. 

• Mentorship and Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team of test automation professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. 

• Project Management: Manage schedules, risks, and deliverables for test automation and modernization projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives. 

Required Qualifications 

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• Experience: 

• 8+ years of experience in test automation, with at least 3 years in leadership roles. 

• Proven hands-on experience with frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit/TestNG, RestAssured, and JMeter. 

• Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Java. 

• Expertise in API testing (SOAP and RESTful) and database testing  

• Experience with transport ticketing systems, tolling systems, or automated fare collection systems. 

• Technical Skills: 

• Integration of automated test harnesses for IaaS and cloud-based systems. 

• Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitActions, etc, and version control systems like Git. 

• Strong understanding of functional, performance, and hardware-software integration testing. 

• Tools and Processes: Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence, and experience with modern software development and testing methodologies. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with large-scale system performance testing and debugging. 

• Experiences with System Integration Lab automation including Robotics 

• Advanced relevant certification (ISTQB highly preferred).
