Job Summary

Job Description

As an Account Executive at Google Cloud, you will be responsible for leading the prospecting and acquisition of new clients, building strong customer relationships, and acting as a trusted advisor on technology and business decisions. You will become an expert on your customers' businesses, developing account strategies for growth, collaborating with cross-functional teams and partners. Managing complex sales cycles, presenting to C-level executives, and negotiating terms are key aspects of the role. You will drive business development, ensure operational excellence, and accurately forecast to meet goals, leading customers through the entire sales process. Fluency in English and German is required for managing client relationships in the designated region. The role involves working with startups and public sector clients.
Must have:
  • 7+ years quota-carrying cloud/software sales experience
  • Public sector & startup experience
  • Fluent English & German communication
  • Lead generation & customer relationship building
  • C-level executive presentations & negotiations
Good to have:
  • Experience with Cloud Solutions, Infrastructure Software, Databases, Analytic Tools
  • Experience working with customer engineers and technical leads
  • Experience with commercial and legal negotiations

Job Details


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience with quota-carrying cloud or software sales, or account management at a B2B software company.
  • Experience in the Public sector and startups and in prospecting, or building customer relationships from scratch.
  • Ability to communicate in English and German fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience promoting Cloud Solutions, Infrastructure Software, Databases, Analytic Tools, or Applications Software to Startups or Digital Native organizations, aligning solutions to drive business outcomes.
  • Experience prospecting, and building new customer relationships, for building Greenfield territories and experience in acquiring new logos at scale and securing foundational workloads to accelerate consumption business.
  • Experience working with customer engineers and technical leads to inventory software estate, define migration plans, and build migration business cases.
  • Experience with commercial and legal negotiations, working with Procurement, Legal, and Business teams.
  • Experience working with, and leading, cross-functional teams and partners in implementations and negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead prospecting and acquisition of new logos, creating and building customer relationships from scratch, and be a trusted advisor on their long-term technology and business decisions.
  • Become an expert on our customers business, including their SaaS product portfolio, technology strategy, growth plans, business drivers, financial structure, customer base, vertical market offering and engaged landscape.
  • Lead account strategy to develop business growth opportunities, working cross-functionally with multiple teams and Google Partners, to maximize business impact within startup customers.
  • Manage complex business-cycles, presenting to C-level executives and negotiating terms.
  • Drive business development, own operational excellence at scale, forecast accurately, and achieve goals by leading customers through the entire business-cycle.
