Job Description

As an Associate QA Tester, you will be an integral part of ensuring the quality and reliability of Rockstar's online services, websites, and platforms. Your responsibilities will include creating and working through comprehensive test plans, writing concise bug reports, and collaborating with other departments. You will test online services, updates, live events, and maintenance for all supported titles. Additionally, you'll be responsible for testing features, admin tools, customer support tools, website updates, and the Rockstar Games Launcher. This full-time position is based in Lincoln, England.
Must have:
  • Communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience of current and previous gen consoles.
  • Knowledge and experience of PC Gaming and associated digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Good to have:
  • Experience with database software.
  • Experience of testing web based applications and web sites.
  • Experience of using online service tools.
  • Experience of working with ecommerce platforms and processes.
  • Experience within QA at any level.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, C# or C++.
  • Experience automating tests.

Rockstar Lincoln is on the lookout for talented Associate QA Testers of Online Services, Website/Commerce, and Digital Distribution Platforms at any level of experience who possess a passion for quality.

This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in Lincoln, England. 

WHAT WE DO

  • Ensure the quality and reliability of Rockstar’s online services, websites and platforms in support of multiple Industry leading titles.
  • Create and work through comprehensive test plans to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
  • Write up bug reports concisely explaining issues and providing required information and attachments.
  • Work cohesively with other departments to gain a full understanding of all systems in test.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying, investigating, clarifying and documenting defects encountered during testing.
  • Test of all associated Rockstar online services, updates, live events, sweepstakes and maintenance for all supported titles.
  • Test of all Rockstar online services related features for all upcoming titles and title updates.
  • Test of all Rockstar online services admin and customer support tools for all supported and upcoming titles.
  • Test of all Rockstar Games websites updates, including the Rockstar Store.
  • Test of Rockstar Games Launcher and associated tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience of current and previous gen (Xbox One & PS4) consoles.
  • Knowledge and Experience of PC Gaming and associated digital platforms e.g. Steam, Epic, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office suite.

  • The ability to multitask and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to highly technical tasks.
  • The ability to work productively and collaboratively, respecting others' opinions.
  • The ability to remain focused when approaching repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to become accustomed to various in-house software systems.
  • Ability to multitask and handle rapidly changing situations.

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

  • Experience with a variety of database software.
  • Experience of testing web based applications and web sites.
  • Experience of using online service tools such as Fiddler and Wireshark.
  • Experience of working with ecommerce platforms and processes.
  • Experience within QA at any level.
  • Basic understanding of any of the following: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, C# or C++.
  • Experience automating tests.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age and above.
  • This is a two-stage application process. You will first be asked to complete a video interview; from which you may be asked to attend an onsite interview with the team.
  • We are currently looking to hire for our Night Shift only (6:30pm – 3:00am).
