As a Digital Content Strategist, you will be responsible for defining and aligning content strategies to meet franchise goals, setting YouTube KPIs, and ensuring teams execute to plan. This role involves leveraging audience data and industry trends to propose optimized content solutions for YouTube, contributing to digital content proposals, identifying competitive trends, and collaborating with the Content Creation team throughout the development process. You will oversee the launch and ongoing performance of digital content, working with the Audience & Network team to monitor results and provide feedback on brand KPIs. Additionally, you will stay informed on YouTube platform trends and network performance to integrate insights into content strategies.

WildBrain, Audience Engagement is a digital media leader that creates, manages and distributes kids’ entertainment content on platforms such as YouTube, Amazon Video Direct and ROKU. Our branded YouTube network is one of the largest of its kind, featuring over 500 brands and 300K videos across 800 kids’ channels.  

Our team also produces original content at our studio including animation, stop motion and live action, both for our channels and those of popular kids’ content and toy brands. Our content reaches 1 in 3 kids globally with over 4 billion monthly views, engaging families everywhere! About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Partnerships, the Digital Content Strategist will sit within WildBrain’s Audience Engagement business unit, specifically in Partnerships. Partnerships is dedicated to developing and driving successful Audience Engagement results for both owned franchise objectives and external partnerships, primarily on YouTube. Throughout this Fixed-term contract as Digital Content Strategist you will be instrumental in bridging our capabilities within two business units, Audience & Engagement and Content Creation, to ensure we effectively collaborate on digital-first content strategies. You will work closely with production teams and the YouTube Audience & Network team to activate the digital execution for new IP and evergreen franchises on YouTube. This role is responsible for delivering meaningful engagement with audiences around the world, elevating brand performance across all Audience Engagement KPIs.

Job Description

  • Accountable for defining and aligning content strategies to meet Franchise goals, for both owned and operated and select third-party partners (‘Global Partners’), setting YouTube KPIs, and ensuring relevant teams are able to execute to plan
  • Leveraging all forms of audience data, along with industry trends to propose optimized content solutions for YouTube.
  • Contribute to proposals for digital content; analysing partner briefs to provide content recommendations. Identify competitive trends and editorial themes that will become the foundation for the Content Creation team to develop and budget production work with internal or external studios.
  • Collaborate closely with the Content Creation team throughout the development process to ensure content strategies are being met.
  • Oversee launch and on-going performance of digital content for assigned brands; working with the Audience & Network team to monitor results, providing feedback within Audience Engagement and to the Franchise team on brand KPIs and tactics to improve results as needed.
  • Keep informed on wider YouTube platform trends and the performance across the WildBrain network, to monitor and report on content performance trends that can be integrated into content strategies.

Qualifications

  • Franchise, Marketing or YouTube specialist in a media or entertainment company
  • Excellent organisational skills, working to deadlines and delivering on KPI’s.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to prioritise business opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Deep understanding of content performance on digital platforms, particularly YouTube, with an emphasis on the factors that drive brand success.
  • Experience in producing and distributing digital-first content as a form of marketing
  • Proficiency in utilizing analytics and digital engagement metrics, translating their implications into actionable creative strategies.
  • Ideally, production experience or knowledge of production process
