Job Description

The Gameplay Animator will be responsible for creating high-quality gameplay animations that bring characters to life. They will collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure animations are responsive and immersive. Refining and polishing animations for smooth transitions and player feedback is also key. Troubleshooting animation-related challenges and prototyping animations to refine mechanics are included. This role requires a strong portfolio demonstrating gameplay-focused animations, experience with keyframe and motion capture, and proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine. Collaboration and communication skills are essential.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Gameplay Animator with a shipped title.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing gameplay animations (locomotion, combat, interactions).
  • Hands-on experience using keyframe techniques and motion capture data.
  • Deep understanding of animation principles and their use in gameplay.
  • Proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine animation tools.
Good to have:
  • Experience creating animation logic from scratch using Unreal Engine blueprints.
  • Familiarity with UE5-specific Control Rig.
  • Skills in keyframe animation for stylized movements.

Job Details

We’re looking for a Gameplay Animator who’s ready to inject life, energy, and personality into every moment of our new PC-first, cross-platform PvEvP game. In this role, you’ll collaborate with designers, programmers, and other artists to create dynamic, responsive animations that elevate the gameplay experience. From crafting fluid character movement to delivering high-impact combat animations, you’ll play a critical part in defining how players connect with our game.


Key responsibilities:

● Creating and implementing high-quality gameplay animations that bring characters to life.

● Collaborating with designers and engineers to ensure animations feel responsive and immersive during gameplay.

● Refining and polishing animations to achieve smooth transitions and satisfying player feedback.

● Troubleshooting and problem-solving animation-related challenges within the engine.

● Prototyping gameplay animations to test ideas and refine mechanics alongside the
design team.


Requirements:

● 3+ years of experience as a Gameplay Animator, with at least one shipped title.

● A strong portfolio showcasing gameplay-focused animations, including locomotion,
combat, and environmental interactions.

● Hands-on experience creating animations using both keyframe techniques and
motion capture data.

● A deep understanding of animation principles and how they translate into real-time
gameplay.

● Proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine animation tools (Animation Blueprints, State
Machines, etc.).

● A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills to work effectively across
disciplines.


Will be a plus:

● Experience in creating your own animation logic from scratch using animation blueprints in Unreal Engine.

● Familiarity with UE5-specific Control Rig.

● Skills in keyframe animation for stylized and highly exaggerated character
movements.
