Job Description

As an Audio Designer, you will be responsible for designing immersive, dynamic, and terrifying audio experiences within Unreal Engine for a horror multiplayer game. This involves creating high-quality sound effects, ambient audio, and interactive elements to enhance gameplay and atmosphere. You will collaborate with designers, animators, and programmers to integrate audio seamlessly, developing reactive soundscapes and spatialized 3D audio. The role also includes optimizing audio assets, implementing real-time mixing, and debugging audio-related issues. This position fosters creative contributions and encourages collaboration within an inclusive environment.
Must have:
  • Proven experience as an Audio Designer in gaming with one shipped game.
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine's audio pipeline (MetaSounds, Sound Cues, Blueprints).
  • Strong understanding of spatial audio design and real-time audio processing.
  • Experience designing horror-themed audio elements.
  • Knowledge of multiplayer audio implementation.
  • Proficiency in sound design software (Reaper, Pro Tools, Wwise, FMOD, or similar).
  • Comfortable with high-level audio design and hands-on integration.
Good to have:
  • Experience with procedural audio generation.
  • Familiarity with adaptive music systems.
  • Basic scripting skills in Blueprints or Python.

Audio Designer


We are looking for a talented Audio Designer with expertise in Unreal Engine to join our team and shape the soundscapes of our horror multiplayer game. You will be responsible for designing immersive, dynamic, and terrifying audio experiences that enhance both gameplay and atmosphere. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with both high-level audio design and hands-on integration within Unreal Engine.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-quality sound effects, ambient audio, and interactive audio elements in Unreal Engine.
  • Utilize Unreal Engine’s audio tools (MetaSounds, Sound Cue system, DSP effects) to create immersive horror experiences.
  • Work closely with designers, animators, and programmers to integrate audio seamlessly into gameplay.
  • Create and manage dynamic and reactive soundscapes that respond to player actions and enemy behaviors.
  • Design and implement spatialized 3D audio, ensuring high-quality positional sound.
  • Develop and optimize audio assets to maintain performance across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with the design teams to enhance tension, fear, and atmosphere through sound.
  • Implement real-time mixing, occlusion, and environmental audio effects for a more immersive experience.
  • Debug and troubleshoot audio-related issues in collaboration with the technical team.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and techniques in game audio.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Audio Designer in the gaming industry with at least one shipped game.
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine’s audio pipeline (MetaSounds, Sound Cues, Blueprints).
  • Strong understanding of spatial audio design, real-time audio processing, and interactive sound.
  • Experience designing horror-themed audio elements that build suspense and atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of multiplayer audio implementation, including voice chat, enemy proximity sounds, and dynamic audio cues.
  • Proficiency in sound design software (Reaper, Pro Tools, Wwise, FMOD, or similar).
  • Comfortable with both high-level audio design and hands-on integration within Unreal Engine.
  • Ability to take creative direction, iterate on feedback, and adapt to project needs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with procedural audio generation.
  • Familiarity with adaptive music systems.
  • Basic scripting skills in Blueprints or Python for advanced audio logic.

Experience working in PvEvP game environments.
