The HR Compliance Manager role at Google is crucial for ensuring the company's HR practices comply with legal and ethical standards across its global operations. You'll be responsible for managing multiple compliance-related projects, developing and implementing strategies to improve HR practices, and maintaining in-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations. This role involves reviewing HR practices, identifying potential risks, conducting audits, investigating and resolving compliance issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders. You will play a key role in creating a fair and inclusive work environment for Googlers worldwide.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience in Human Resources Compliance Management
  • Experience in practicing Indian employment laws
  • Excellent investigative, auditing, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good to have:
  • Experience working on cross-functional project teams
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated diverse cultural understanding
  • Comfortable working with global teams

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in Human Resources Compliance Management.
  • Experience in practicing Indian employment laws.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working on cross-functional project teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on drive and execution.
  • Demonstrated diverse cultural understanding and comfortable working with global teams.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent investigative, auditing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to comfortably lead through ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver outcomes of multiple compliance related projects/program areas. Develop and implement strategies to improve our HR practices.
  • Review current HR practices and policies to identify potential compliance risks and provide recommendations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of current federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Design and deliver strategies for HR systems, policies and frameworks to ensure alignment with applicable labor and employment impacting commitments, standards, laws, regulations, and company objectives.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices and records to identify potential areas of non-compliance. Investigate and resolve any compliance issues in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate compliance reports, documentation, and records as required for internal and external review. Partner closely with the HR team, legal counsel, and business leaders to proactively address compliance concerns and implement best practices.
