We built the Morningstar Development Program (MDP) to prepare recent college graduates for successful, long-term careers here at Morningstar. Throughout this two-year program, you will be placed in a cohort where you’ll receive ongoing career development, networking, mentoring, training opportunities, practicum program opportunities, and exposure to different areas of the business to help you succeed at Morningstar. We are accepting applicants with zero to two years of full-time work experience. While we look for individuals who have an interest in investing, we welcome all fields of study.
About the role:

As a People and Culture MDP Associate, you will provide a great service experience to employees and managers needing assistance from People & Culture, Morningstar’s HR team. You will support People & Culture functional areas with their projects and day-to-day HR process tasks. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Job responsibilities:
• Serve as the front-line support for People & Culture-related questions and inquiries from employees and managers. Research and craft complete and accurate responses to their questions and within defined SLAs. Escalate and learn from more complex situations by collaborating with People & Culture domain experts, business partners and our HRIS Workday team as appropriate.
• Identify, implement, and continually improve the internal HR service processes, procedures, and infrastructure necessary to enable a global People & Culture “service desk” capability and deliver a first-class internal customer experience.
• Spend time rotating across several areas of P&C to gain exposure to Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Operations and much more across your two years in the MDP program.
• Lead and successfully execute projects on behalf of, or in partnership with, other People & Culture team members in areas such as analytics, process improvements, transformation, program enhancements or new program launches, organizational change, information management, HRIS, and communications.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• 0-2 years of professional experience, Internship or demonstrated campus leadership
• Desire to learn and grow within the People & Culture (HR) function and the domains within.
• Proven ability to learn quickly, behave professionally, think critically and proactively take responsibility.
• Ability to work collaboratively or on an independent basis.
• Demonstration of a high level of discretion and candor relating to sensitive or confidential information.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems on a strategic level.
• Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
