Job Description
As a Mechanical Design Engineer II at Google Cloud in Taipei, Taiwan, you'll own the entire product design lifecycle, from requirements gathering to manufacturing release. This includes developing and executing designs, performing engineering analysis, creating test plans, and validating designs. You will troubleshoot technical challenges and influence future product development. You'll design and evaluate data center systems, contributing to research and project planning. The role involves designing and optimizing the architecture for scalability to support Google's growth, encompassing everything from chips to chillers. Responsibilities include design, analysis, validation of electro-mechanical systems, and working across functions.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience designing mechanical components
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Solidworks)
- Design and analysis of electro-mechanical systems
- Testing and validation of designs
Good to have:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical design
- Experience in Experimental Modal Testing/Modal Analysis
- FEA/Sound and Vibration Engineering experience
- Experience in structural engineering fundamentals

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
- Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and validation of electro-mechanical systems and products, and in mechanical product design and analysis using CAD/CAE tools.
- Experience in Experimental Modal Testing/Modal Analysis FEA/Sound and Vibration Engineering.
- Experience in designing and analyzing structural engineering fundamentals and material properties/science, and with dimensional tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities
- Own and design entire product design life cycle - including requirements gathering, concept generation, detailed design with analysis, verification testing, cross-functional reviews, and manufacturing release.
- Develop and execute designs for systems backed by engineering analysis.
- Create test plans, perform testing, and validate designs to meet engineering requirements.
- Troubleshoot, root cause, and resolve potential technical challenges.
- Influence and shape future products by providing mechanical and product design engineering knowledge into the technology roadmap with data-driven decisions.
