Job Description
Jam City, a leading mobile games developer, is seeking a motivated and skilled Principal Platform Engineer to join their Central Technologies team. The role focuses on building high-quality technology for Jam City's game portfolio. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining C# mobile client SDKs for Unity games, contributing to Java-based microservices, and building scalable solutions for mobile and web. The engineer will collaborate with global teams, mentor junior engineers, and influence product roadmaps. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of software engineering experience, extensive software design knowledge, and strong skills in C# or Java.
Must have:
- Design, develop, and maintain C# mobile client SDKs for Unity games
- Develop and deploy Java-based microservices
- Work with diverse internal and external customers
- Build scalable mobile and web solutions
- Take ownership and drive initiatives
- Mentor software engineers
- Advise and influence product roadmaps
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Extensive software design experience
- Extensive Unity3D app development or native mobile development
- Extensive C# or Java experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
Good to have:
- Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)

Jam City is seeking a motivated, skilled Principal Platform Engineer to join our Central Technologies team! Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of C# mobile client SDKs for Unity games.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of Java-based microservices.
- Work effectively with a large variety of internal and external customers and game teams around the globe
- Build performant solutions for mobile and web that can scale to millions of users
- Take ownership and responsibility for initiatives and make them happen
- Mentor fellow software engineers on software development best practices
- Participate in planning discussions to advise and influence the product roadmaps
Qualifications:
- Ideally 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer in a fast-paced, small-mid team environment
- Extensive software design experience with knowledge of methodologies
- Extensive experience with Unity3D app development and/or native iOS and/or Android development processes
- Extensive experience and skills in a managed language like C# or Java
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills
- Organized, detail-oriented with a proven track record of delivering projects on time
Bonus Points:
- Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
