Job Description

Paytm seeks an experienced Program Manager to lead strategic UPI initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include driving project execution, preparing status reports for senior management, leading system performance improvements with partner banks, overseeing compliance projects, developing robust tracking mechanisms, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, identifying process inefficiencies, managing stakeholder communications, and planning team engagements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex projects in fast-paced startup environments, a strong understanding of financial technology and UPI/payments, and excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Must have:

4-5 years experience in strategic roles within startups
Proven track record of managing complex projects
Understanding of financial technology, preferably UPI/payments
Excellent stakeholder management and communication
Project management and data-driven decision-making skills

Good to have:

MBA
Experience with banking partners and regulatory compliance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our UPI Team at Paytm. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects and working directly with senior leadership in fast-paced startup environments. This role will be instrumental in driving key strategic initiatives and ensuring operational excellence across our UPI ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

● Drive and track the execution of strategic UPI initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines

● Prepare and present comprehensive status reports to senior management, providing clear visibility on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies

● Lead system performance improvement initiatives with partner banks, identifying optimization opportunities and implementing solutions

● Oversee the timely delivery of compliance and risk-related projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements

● Develop and maintain robust tracking mechanisms for project timelines, deliverables and key performance indicators

● Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between technical teams, business stakeholders and external partners

● Identify process inefficiencies and implement standardized practices to improve operational effectiveness

● Manage stakeholder communications and expectations at all levels of the organization

● Planning team engagement and offsites.

Required Qualifications

● 4-5 years of experience in CEO office, Founder office, or similar strategic roles within fast-growing startups

● Proven track record of successfully managing complex, high-impact projects

● Understanding of financial technology, preferably with exposure to UPI/payments ecosystem will be preferred

● Excellence in stakeholder management and executive communication

● Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)

● Experience in working with banking partners and understanding of regulatory

compliance frameworks will be preferred

● Exceptional project management and stakeholder management abilities

● Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making approach

● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

● Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities

● Proficiency in project management tools and data visualization.
