As a Project Manager at The Workshop, you will be responsible for managing the release of our initiatives from kick-off to closure. You will work closely with the Product Delivery and IT Teams to establish plans, track milestones, and ensure consistency throughout the project lifecycle. You will also be responsible for communicating project status updates to stakeholders at all levels. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in an agile environment, and a strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle. You will be part of Enterprise Portfolio Management team, an efficient, collaborative and diverse Portfolio, Project and Programme management function that creates genuine value for the business and supports the delivery of key objectives; and will report to the Portfolio management for the business unit you are assigned to.
Must have:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years hands-on Project Management experience in software delivery industry
  • Full understanding of the Project lifecycle
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Credible and persuasive, with collaborative and influencing skills
  • Highly organized and good at getting things done
  • Proven ability to proactively manage time effectively
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and in a matrix team environment
Good to have:
  • Professional PM Qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince 2, Agile Scrum Master, etc.)
  • Degree educated in a subject such as IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business etc.

Your mission

Your main objective will be to work with the Product Delivery and IT Teams working on our initiatives’ releases, from kick-off to the closure, supporting teams to establish plans and keep track of milestones and providing consistency over the whole project lifecycle.

You will act as the main point of contact and will ensure that stakeholders at all levels have the information they need for informed decision-making. You will provide visibility of project statuses by assisting teams in preparing individual project reports to be updated in a timely manner, so we do expect you to have superb communications skills and fluent English.

You will have to get up to speed and pick up things very quickly, and must be comfortable managing concurrent projects in a truly agile work environment with limited supervision. You will be part of Enterprise Portfolio Management team, an efficient, collaborative and diverse Portfolio, Project and Programme management function that creates genuine value for the business and supports the delivery of key objectives; and will report to the Portfolio management for the business unit you are assigned to.

What you'll do

  • Work with various internal and external teams within our delivery teams to plan and understand milestones and dependencies across a number of concurrent projects.
  • Help assure a regular cadence of releases for our clients.
  • Ensure that the software delivery lifecycle is adhered to, agreed scope is delivered and changes are tracked.
  • Plan for and proactively disseminate upwards communication and regular project status reports to stakeholders via consolidated Portfolio reporting.
  • Actively participate and contribute to weekly update calls providing up to date and relevant information. Unite cross-functional teams so that everyone is on the same page, facilitating collaboration and encouraging effective communication and horizontal teamwork towards a common goal.
  • Capture and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies in an organized and coherent manner.
  • Work with key stakeholders in IT, Product, Engineering and Design teams to establish overall plans and actively manage dependencies.
  • Track activities and manage stakeholder involvement as appropriate.
  • Build appropriate and effective relationships and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders.

What you'll bring

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and adapt, actively seeks for guidance and advice from the team to handle more complex or unexpected situations.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years hands-on Project Management experience in software delivery industry, you will have a full understanding of the Project lifecycle and be able to apply your experience using standard methodologies and artefacts for medium-scale projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Credible and persuasive, with collaborative and influencing skills.
  • Highly organized and good at getting things done in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment.
  • Proven ability to proactively manage time effectively when handling multiple simultaneous projects, to switch context and be adaptable to change.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and in a matrix team environment.
  • Desirable Professional PM Qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince 2, Agile Scrum Master, etc.).
  • Ideally degree educated in a subject such as IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business etc.
